Sunday News Summaries and Commentaries
Observations of things that make one go hmmmm....things that change.....the norm that suddenly gives way to something different.....notice anything a "quietness".....and the news that is shared today is sort of off the wall....makes you wonder...what to believe....but don't allow what appears in newsprint to lead you astray.....just because someone felt it was newsworthy doesn't make the story any closer to the truth.
Economist: deletion of zeros from the currency will reduce the dollar traded in the local market
It would appear that we have a case of apples and oranges here....they don't mix too well when put into a case....it was either designed for apples or for oranges, but as a mix, the lid just won't close properly.....

It would appear that we have a case of apples and oranges here....they don't mix too well when put into a case....it was either designed for apples or for oranges, but as a mix, the lid just won't close properly.....

We even see the use of Dr. S name here.....saying he was ready four years ago but the project was delayed as they awaited the correct conditions....then we witnessed the ouster of Dr. S from his position as Governor of the CBI....and we believe opportunities have been squandered ever since......
Well the time grows ripe again.....will we see the return of Dr. S with the ouster today of keywords from his position as "acting" governor of the CBI.....a job that apparently he hasn't done too well in the eyes of PM Abadi.....
Remember who appointed him.....the removal of the 000's was Dr. S's baby....his project....but not in this manner or fashion.....only the truth in action here will set any of us free...and as part of that truth keep in mind this is one person's opinion....and he is not a part of the process that will bring Dr. S's project to fruition.
The formation of a parliamentary committee to follow up the mini anti-money laundering measures
These people of the Finance Committee just never seem to give it up.....well ok, they actually announced this "mini" committee before PM Abadi made his announcements of sweeping reforms that would soon identify many within the government who would be ousted, either willingly or with a boot, because of their hands being dirty from corrupt ways....
I'm suspecting that we may have trouble with this mini-committee because of the population in the committee growing ever increasingly small.....this mini-committee theory appears to go against the grain of the Integrity Commission who appears to be better equipped to ferret out issues relating to money-laundering activities.....even better at looking the Finance Committee in the eye and in their best Donald Trump imitation saying...."You're Fired"....and so goes the story and belief.....be ready for it.
Care of minors circle: the resumption of work auction, the central bank increased the rate of participation to 15%
So you are a minor league player in the CBI picture of things.....you should be delighted to hear they are raising the participation limits from 10% to 15%.....this comes after the Judicial Ministry announced that the CBI could indeed reinstitute its auction process....a process that had been interrupted by an attempt of the Finance Committee in Parliament to rule things.....
Sometimes we make decisions we should have left to the powers that understand the process better.....in this case the CBI being the power that better knows what should be happening.....the optimal investment of the players money....the Finance Committee merely wanted control.
Urgent committee fall of Mosul delivered its final report to the Presidency of Parliament
Just the start of several articles that bring names to light....names that will be shared by the Speaker of Parliament in their next session....the start of the State of Law coalition abstaining from any votes on the report....because their corrupt leader's name leads all names that appear within the report.
Conflict last hours .. 15 convicted in the report of the fall of Mosul, the most prominent al-Maliki and Liberation of Iraq
Then as a sort of continuation......we have a 100 page report that provides a wealth of information pointing to a cast of 15, those responsible for DAASH being allowed to overrun Mosul and much of the province of Nineveh last year in June.....we also have a 20 page conclusion for this thorough report accompanied by five pages of recommendations of what to do with this criminals who are to be charged in the case.....again Maliki's name heads the list, followed by the governor of Nineveh, Ethel Najafi, who is the brother to the former Speaker of Parliament....you know the one who was just kicked out of his position as Vice President.....
I am sure this report will ruffle political feathers but if it was factually put together then I guess the truth can hurt at times....shame on those who got their hands bloodied because of the lost Iraqi lives in this debacle.
Abadi refers to military leaders to trial after their withdrawal from the gray battles
Here we have PM Abadi holding those military leaders accountable for their actions last May in Ramadi when the city fell once again into the hands of DAASH after the Iraqi Army basically walked away....these officers and leaders appear to look much like the ones who left Mosul last year.....and I'm sure that PM Abadi is thinking that many of them may still hold their allegiance to former PM and former VP Maliki....but why continue to saddle a dead horse.....it serves no purpose other than to get you thrown into a military court that is sure to not look or react favorably to what you did in deserting your post in the way you did.
Why does the Iraqi govt employs corrupt, unqualified and unprofessional personnel?
Opinions are cheap....opinions come and go with the changing of the wind.....and rarely are they based on all the facts....most often just a one-sided....often lopsided view of what might be the actual truth......this is but one such example.....and I dare to say that I doubt this individual has taken the time to gather all the facts....just reporting on what he believes he sees.....he has his opinion.....I have mine....and two diverging pathways they follow....who is right....well that fact remains to be seen.....the process continues to evolve as time marches on.....but as it has been from the start....my money stays on PM Abadi and his reform processes.
Smuggling (20) bag inside millions of dollars in gold bullion on the Iraqi Airways to Lebanon
Millions of dollars in cash and gold bullion makes its way out of Iraq via Iraqi Airways and into Lebanon where it is caught by Customs agents.....how can that be.....sounds like there needs to be some security agents within the Iraqi airport systems that might need to get the boot for corruption issues along with all the politicians.....millions got through but were seized by Lebanese Customs agents.....
So is it any wonder how Maliki might have made it into Iran.....the right amount of money passing through the right hands....a sudden cough....a need to go to the rest room.....while a certain individual is allowed then to board a plane undetected.....and then met by the right officials on the Iranian end of things.....cough again....oh you forget to zip up your pants there dude.
Abdul-Mahdi: the budgets of Iraq since 2003 amounted to $ 850 billion
So since 2003 Iraq has had budgets that may have totaled $850 billion dollars.....how much of that was revenues and where did it all go....certainly not into the hands of the Iraqi citizens....certainly not into such industries as power generation that might have improved the electrical system within the country.....oh what about bulging trouser pockets...and those briefcases that don't seem to want to close without a size 52 inch belt strapped around them.....
Could corruption actually have taken away 50% of all these budgets....what blind eyes must have been running the government in those days.....the biggest of those blind eyes was Maliki and his family and band of thugs.....then what was thought to be funding of projects....just really was more lining of pockets and mattresses....the list goes on and on.....be thankful of the leadership today that is striving diligently to bring an end to this thoughtless corruption....regardless of the opinions some have of their processes.
Turkey will buy gas from Iraq, less than half the price in 2017
Turkey is working on a contract to get natural gas from Iraq by 2017....a step in the right direction so Iraq can capture the energy they have to date been largely flaring to the environment....maybe not at great market prices but at a price that is better than blowing the gas away.....oh an then let us just naturally segue into the fact that the Kurds can't openly sell their oil to Turkey without approval from Baghdad.....a well known fact.....so where is this going.....the Turkish government would like to buy gas at a lower cost to them.....after all they are buying now from Russia and Iran....so let's hold Iraq over a barrel, besides Iraq is the one who wants to complicate their own life......or is it the Kurds who are choosing to do that.

So the religious clerics now are threatening war against Iraq if they continue forward with the trials against Maliki.....who couldn't see this coming......get him out of the country....Maliki...Maliki who.....we have no one here by that name....but if you Iraq choose to bloody his name in trials that would defame his integrity we have no choice but to turn our weapons against you.....the question now is will PM Abadi stand up to these threats.....lost opportunity in letting this snake slither across the border into a land that breeds his like and worse.

PM Abadi warned last week that the road ahead of the reforms he proposed would not be an easy path....here we see an assassination attempt against the head of the Integrity Commission.....luckily he escaped with his life but several body guards were injured as a result of the attempt.....I suspect this is only the first in what will be other attempts to quiet those who are trying to bring the corrupt to justice.
Hand / secret / pave the way for a coup against Maliki: Abadi and cheaper to head the Secretariat of the Dawa Party
So the efforts continue to oust Maliki from the head of the Dawa Party and install PM Abadi in his place.....where does this all fit in with the latest of threats from the Iranian clerics.....I hope we hear from the Abadi supporters and himself that it is full steam ahead.
