MY LADIES: HI THERE, I'M IN FOR JUST A MIN, THE DAY IS GETTING AWAY FROM ME,
THIS IS A VERY GOOD READ AND GIVES A FURTHER UNDERSTANDING OF THE SILK ROAD AND THE IMPORTANCE OF IT.
China takes the lead on the silk road

China has accepted that its new found economic clout as the world’s largest economy (in purchasing price parity terms) comes with responsibilities for economic leadership. Within two years the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank grew from a proposal put on the table by China alone to a US$100 billion multilateral agreement supported by 57 countries.

....
This is evidence of China’s willingness and capacity for economic leadership among a swathe of countries from South Korea to Portugal. While the bank is only one part of China’s broader One Belt, One Road initiative, this economic heavyweight’s experiment with building an open, multilateral institution needs to be encouraged.
China has explicitly committed to ‘shouldering more responsibilities and obligations within its capabilities’. The Silk Road initiatives indicate the scope of China’s present leadership ambitions and capabilities. Founding the AIIB is one part of this. But experimenting with an open, multilateral institution isn’t the only route Beijing is exploring. That’s why those who would like to see China contribute to solutions consistent with the present global order would be well advised to nurture China’s leadership in the AIIB.

MY LADIES: HERE COME THE BEGINNING OF MONEY AND INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES STARTING ON THE GROUND FLOOR. ONE BELT ONE ROAD PROJECTS ARE GOING TO BE A BIG SOURCE OF INVESTMENT IN COMING MONTHS.
China’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Seeking Alpha in Silk Road
http://ift.tt/1ImDchz
CIC is planning some serious investment in the One Belt, One Road initiative
China Investment Corporation (CIC), one of China’s four sovereign wealth funds, began overseas direct investment operations last Monday in the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative. Caixin.com reported that CIC Capital,
CIC’s overseas direct investment branch started in 2015, may have received $100 billion from a Ministry of Finance (MOF) bond issue in part for this purpose. CIC is seeking to profit from OBOR projects in line with its aim of maintaining a direct investment in a number of countries.
Within the Silk Road, investments will be made in 65 countries and in infrastructure sectors such as road, railways, and power, providing a diverse array of projects. CIC’s investment in this area will be boosted by participation from other funding bodies, such as the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, the Silk Road fund, and the New Development Bank.
Direct investment in less developed countries will help to build up infrastructure, while investment in developed countries will help to secure technology and other desirables. Already, OBOR projects have accounted for more than 40 percent of overseas construction projects in the first half of this year, with returns to be realized over a period of ten or more years.

Sieren's China: Silk against sand
http://ift.tt/1KOYVoc
China's "New Silk Road" project is supposed to prevent further land desertification. And DW's Frank Sieren thinks it's worth a shot.
One of China's worst enemies is its deserts. They have infertile soil, a scarcity of water and sand storms. Moreover, they are expanding. The sandstorms in the spring and fall can even be felt in Beijing. Fertile land is turning into sandy soil where hardly anything can grow.
The struggle against desertification is being linked to one of the Chinese government's most important projects: the rebuilding of the old Silk Road. The idea is as follows: If you behave in a way that is environmentally-friendly, you will get special conditions for involvement in the economic boom.

MY LADIES: IS THE U.S. CAPABLE OF FORWARD THING???
The New Silk Road, A Chinese-style “New Deal”. The Economic and Geopolitical Consequences http://ift.tt/1OF6nQQ
Historians will remember that the Chinese President Xi Jinping officially launched the new “Silk Road” with a 30 minute speech at the Boao Economic Conference on Hainan Island the 28 March 2015, in front of 16 heads of State or government and 100 or so ministers from the 65 countries which are on the path, land or sea, of this new trade route[1]. For us, involved in political anticipation, what a challenge we have been given! China is suggesting that we imagine the future by stepping back several centuries, even two millennia.
Such a move isn’t absurd, as a fact ! The strength of nations such as Russia, Iran, India or China comes from their ability to think far into the future. Europe also has an historical depth – the two world wars encouraged it to rediscover the age before nations, that of Charlemagne or even the Roman Empire. This way of thinking is probably most alien to the US undoubtedly and which will look at the Chinese project with the greatest suspicion.

MY LADIES: HAVE A LOOK AT THE DIFFERENT RAIL LINES
China's New Silk Road Promises Prosperity Across Eurasia http://ift.tt/1UdecAR
SINGAPORE -- For centuries the historical Silk Road connected Asia and Europe by land and by sea. The new proposal of China, while reviving the ancient concept of the Silk Road, aims to carry forward the spirit of peace, cooperation, openness and inclusiveness for shared benefits.
Naturally, it takes time for people to fully take in a big idea. The first challenge is choosing a good translation that captures the world's imagination. This initiative is translated into English as the "Belt and Road" initiative. I have been asked many times to explain what this means. The first question is always, "Why does China want a belt built on land and a road built in the sea?"

China emerged as a major economic player in Central Asia, driving billions into promoting Chinese-Central Asian trade. According to International Monetary Fund estimates, these investments reached $50 billion last year

Hotel groups in the Persian Gulf Arab states are seeking to boost their portfolios in Iran as they see the country emerging as the most lucrative hospitality development market.
Iran has an ambitious target to increase annual visitor count by five folds to 20 million by 2025 in order to generate $30 billion a year.

Iran says it has reached a preliminary agreement with certain German banks to open branches in the country. However, he did not which specific brand will be involved in this.
Seif has emphasized that no restrictions exist for foreign banks to operate in Iran. He added that foreign banks are free to open branches in Iran’s free trade zones.
“International investors can establish banks in Iran in cooperation with domestic investors,” the CBI chief said
