The Paris Conference, held last June, the UN and the USA basically said to Iraq that they need to clean up their court system.
Out pops the resignation of Medhat al-Mahmoud. This judge was bought and paid for by Maliki to decide cases. Some of us watched many of these bad decisions over the years and wondered just what was going on.

Yesterday Abadi called for the judiciary to undertake "drastic" reforms to fight corruption. This action was announced in response to weeks of protests and demonstrations. Abadi is getting his power from the people.
Abadi said: "The wide reforms I called for require a just and impartial and firm judiciary to support these reforms,"
Sistani said: "We would like to point out that one of the most important requirements of the reform process is reforming the judiciary, as it is an important pillar in completing the package of reforms, and there cannot be true reform without it,"
Isn’t it important for the UN and the USA? They are about to significantly revalue the Iraqi currency and drop tens of billions of investment money in their lap.
What about the global investors? How are they going to be treated when disputes arise in Iraq? Can they rely on a fair, independent and transparent court system to hear their case and to make a sound judgment? The legal climate must be changed if they expect all these investors to come flocking into Iraq. They must prepare a legal climate so important for the RV.
So now Abadi is hitting these areas that are the cause of the delays. He is attempting to rid of these obstacles and stalling. We all know what these areas are – corruption, sectarianism, favoritism and plain laziness.
Abadi warned Wednesday that the reform processes "will not be easy; it will be painful," and that corrupt individuals would seek to impede change.

Doc: Iko, still optimistic for next day or so?
Iko Ward : Doc , I am optimistic that this is happening now for us as well as the institutional players. It can now be any minute. Not sure about tomorrow, though, banks don't like Mondays.,

Soonergirl: just watched the movie Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. very interesting how in 2014 they worked it into a movie about the rate of the dollar being manipulated for a crash cause by Russia. just food for thought.

SSClassic: dominoes don't have to be right on the money for the show to go off...some can be a little out of place and the performance still goes off without a hitch…… set up lots of Domino displays when I was a kid....I'm old...we entertained ourselves without a smart phone...we would set up and entire room with hundreds of Dominos
Red: When China depegged from the US dollar it set the Chinese currency free to rise, it also said the US dollar free to be the best
In my opinion there will be other currencies depeg from the US dollars in the days ahead as more and more currencies are set free the US dollar will continue to slide as the dollar slides the price of your eggs and milk and stuff at Walmart will continue to rise that's called inflation only those people who have a free floating income such as the self-employed will be able to keep up with inflation people who are paid by the hour will continue to lose buying power of their income

[Mosal and Anbar, International Law, Tarriffs, Amnesty, Implementation...] and a few more! The anti money laundering law is crucial...Investment Law! Tariffs will probably be after the fact IMO. ...
The meeting last Saturday went extremely well! Everything started moving at lightning speed on Sunday correct? I'm focused on Abadi and the CBI...period... end of story.

Smuggling (20) bag inside millions of dollars in gold bullion on the Iraqi Airways to Lebanon

Informed sources revealed on Sunday that the Lebanese customs authorities detained (20) bag large size to come on board the Iraqi Airways plane within them millions of dollars and gold bullion.
The sources said: "These bags belonging to two people a man and a woman holding diplomatic passports."
He added "The two claimed that the bags belonging to the official Iraqi high-level source on condition of anonymity," asserting that "the Lebanese authorities are now conducting investigations in this regard with the hand on the bags," adding that "investigations of this issue continuously until now."
The country has seen through the past few weeks a wave of major protests to demand the elimination of financial corruption and administrative system files and to bring the perpetrators of corruption and money laundering to the judiciary.
