sczin11: THE WALL STREET JOURNAL Iraq, Kurdistan Oil Deal Close to Collapse The oil-sales pact agreed in December is crumbling, undermining the fight against Islamic State By MATT BRADLEY July 3, 2015 7:22 am ET BAGHDAD-An oil-sales deal between Iraq and the semiautonomous Kurdistan Regional Government is close to collapse about six months after it was signed, undermining the country's unity as it struggles to fight Islamic State and contain an escalating financial crisis.
(Recaps Note: The below Sczin was posted early this morning as a stand alone - It was left in this post as it was a significant part of the chat)
sczin11: GOOOOD MORNING...ANYBODY HOME.
sczin11: THERE ARE SO MANY WILD REPORTS IN SO MANY DIFFERENT SECTORS...ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, OR NOTHING, CAM, MAY HAPPEN..OR NOT
sczin11: PROXY POSITIONS MUST COME DOWN... YET HAVE NOT, YET...BUT, GENERAL ZEBARI HAS RETIRED???
AM I OVER THINKING?
SEVERAL DAYS AGO WE SAW THE FIRST RELEASE OF THE "RETIREMENT" OF GENERAL ZEBARI, CHIEF OF THE IRAQI ARMY...
WE SAW MANY MULTIPLE VARIATIONS OF THIS REPORT, OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS... HE HAD REQUESTED RETIREMENT FOR YEARS, HE WAS FORCED TO RETIRE, AND BACK AND FORTH....
AT THE SAME TIME, WE HAVE BEEN SEEING MANY RELEASES QUOTING MANY POLITICIANS AND CONCERNED PARTIES, SUGGESTING A REPLACEMENT WAS NEEDED, SHOULD BE NAMED, EVEN NAMES OF POSSIBLE SUCCESSORS...
THIS HAS CONTINUED TO BE A HUGE TOPIC OF DISCUSSION/ CONCERN, AT LEAST THRU THE MEDIA WE HAVE SEEN...
IF THIS WERE A PLANNED RETIREMENT, AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS OF SERVICE...
1) WOULDN'T A SUCCESSOR HAVE BEEN PLANNED?
2) WOULDN'T A DEDICATED MILITARY GENERAL, HAVE STAYED AROUND UNTIL HIS POSITION WAS FILLED?
3) WHY IS THIS BEING ABSORBED BY THE MEDIA, TO THE EXTENT IT IS?
I HAVE RESEARCHED AS BEST I COULD, WHO GENERAL ZEBARI IS AND HIS POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS, AND COME TO ONLY ONE CONCLUSION, SO FAR... HE WAS CERTAINLY PART OF THE MALIKI REGIME....
WHERE AM I GOING WITH ALL THIS....
OVER THE LAST SIX MONTHS, WE HAVE SEEN REPORTS ABOUT JUDGE MAHMOOD...
BEING A MALIKI SUPPORTER, OWNING LAND ACQUIRED FROM ESTATE OF SADDAM HUSSEIN,
TOO OLD FOR OFFICE, ETC...
WE HAVE ALSO QUESTIONED WHY HE ACQUITTED DR. SHABIBI, AND HAS CONTINUED TO SERVE HIS OFFICE, WITH WHAT WE ARE MADE TO SEE, AND BELIEVE, INTEGRITY AND ADHEERANCE TO THE ABADI PLAN...
IS HE TRYING TO SAVE HIS JOB, OR LIFE, FOR THAT MATTER.... YET HE IS STILL EMPLOYED!
[07/03/2015 08:11:07 AM] sczin11: THEN WE HAVE ALI ALAAQ, AKA MOSHIN ISMAIL, COMMONLY REFERRED TO BY "KEYWORDS",
THE ACTING GOVERNOR OF THE CBI, APPOINTED BY MALIKI HIMSELF, DAYS BEFORE HIS REIGN AS PRIME MINISTER ENDED....AFTER GETTING THE GOVERNOR AT THE TIME, TO ANNOUNCE HIS RETIREMENT,
GOVERNOR TURKI, WHO ONLY 3 WEEKS EARLIER, HAD GIVEN THE FAMOUS SPEACH, REFERENCE MAY 2, 2014, STATING THE CBI WAS READY FOR MONETARY REFORM,
JUST NEEDED TO SHOW STABILITY ECONOMICALLY, AND MAYBE POLITICALLY...
( remember, at the time of his press release, isis was not announced to the world..that happened on june 10, 2014)
AND TURKI CONTINUED... THE CBI CAN SUPPORT THE IRAQI DINAR TO THE ROOF… REMEMBER THAT.
AND AT THE SAME TIME, PRIOR RELEASES HAD INDICATED/ IMPLIED A MID YEAR CHANGE IN THE MONETARY SYSTEM...
DID THAT MEAN JULY 1, OR JUNE 30 BECAME THE DISCUSSION BACK THEN...,
3 WEEKS AFTER THAT RELEASE, GOVERNOR TURKI, A RESPECTED DIGNITARY IN THE WORLD OF FINANACE, MONETARY POLICIES, AND THEN AS WELL AS CURRENT PRESIDENT OF THE MEFATF, THE MIDDLE EAST FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING TASK FORCE, RETIRED?
WITHIN 3 WEEKS OR SO, ALI ALAAQ, WAS APPOINTED TO THE CBI POSITION....
NO QUESTIONS ASKED, NO MAJOR MEDIA PUBLICITY....
NO FURTHER TALK ABOUT FORMER GOVERNOR TURKI....
AND AGAIN, OVER THE LAST SIX MONTHS, FINGER POINTING BY MANY, AT THE PROXY ACTING CBI GOVERNOR,
THREATS, ALL KINDS OF ACCUSATIONS OF FAILED CBI POLICIES AND ENACTMENTS,
MONTHS OF RHETORIC REGARDING THE LACK OF STABILITY OF THE DINAR,
THE DECREASE OF THE VALUE, NEW MECHANISMS TO STABILIZE IT,
TAXES AND FEES IMPOSED, AND SUSPENDED,
BANKS SUSPENDED FROM EXCHANGING AND PARTICIPATING IN AUCTIONS,
TIES TO MALIKI, THE POWERS HE HAS AS A PROXY OPPOSED TO PERMANENT SEATING AS GOVERNOR,
POWERS THE CBI HAS VERSUS THE GOVERNMENT, AS PER THE CONSTITUTION.....
WITH ALL THE ABOVE AND MORE, MOSHIN CONTINUES TO SPEAK OUT, WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE CONFIDENCE, AND FACTS, LIKE NOTHING IS WRONG...
RESERVES ARE GREAT, CAN SUPPORT THE DINAR BY ONE AND A HALF TIMES, EXCHANGE RATE WILL BE STABILIZED SOON
sczin11: NEXT FEW DAYS, COMING WEEK.. MONEY LAUNDERING AND CORRUPTION WITH THE BANKS APPEARS TO BE WORSE, AS PORTRAYED BY MEDIA,
THEN LAST YEAR WHEN APPEARANCE WAS IT WAS UNDER CONTROL..INTEGRITY COMMISSION INVESTIGATING EVERYONE AND EVERY DEAL AND EVERY INVOICE FOR THE BORDER IMPORTS...
CASES BEING OPENED DAILY...ETC.... AND YET, KEYWORDS IS STILL EMPLOYED!
sczin11: BUT

sczin11: BUT
sczin11: GENERAL ZEBARI IS NOT!!!! AND NO REPLACEMENT THAT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED.....
ALL AT A TIME WHERE THE FINAL REPORT BY THE INVESTIGATIVE COMMISSION, IS TO BE EXPOSED ON ... THE FALL OF MOSUL!! AM I OVER ANALYZING? sczin11
Doug_W: what is ur point there 11 ?
Doug_W: seems to me U didn't make one?
Doug_W: OR am I missing IT?
sczin11: ‹@Doug_W› THE POINT IN MY THINKING HAS TO DO WITH TAKING DOWN SUPPORTERS IN KEY POSITIONS OF MALIKI, ONE BY ONE, AS FEASIBLE...
Doug_W: NOW I get it
Doug_W: and I agree!!
sczin11: THERE MUST B REASONS THAT MAHMOOD AND MOSHIN REMAIN
Doug_W: maybe that IS teh "hold up"
Doug_W: we have all been "looking" 4 one
sczin11: YET A GENERAL OF THE ARMY, OUT OF NOWHERE RETIRES????
MichelleL: i'm being paged, have a very happy fourth - i'll be following anonymously if I can get baCk to a puter, or relearn the tablet :) Bye - Sczin, sounds good, maybe 7th will be a good date, they need to give the peeeps money a week before the end of ramadan so they can shop for the EID presents anyway lol
Doug_W: SOME day it will all make sense
sczin11: And the masul report release immenent
sczin11: REMEMBER THE ABADI MALIKI MEETING LAST WEEK, RIGHT BEFORE THE ZEBARI ANNOUNCEMENT, WHERE ABADI WAS DEFENDING AND DEBUNKING THE REPORTS BY MEDIA TO TAKE MALIKI DOWN...AND THEN, ZEBARI RETIRES AS PER OKAY FROM ABADI..
Doug_W: behind teh scenes politics
Doug_W: never "telegraph" your movements to your "enemy" (Mailki)
sczin11: Agree
Doug_W: when U get rid of supporters one at a time U gradually erode the "base" support of your "emeny" so when its time to "make yor move" it happnes smoothly
Imagist: No doubt that your assessment has validity, but one must add the fact that GENERAL ZEBARI has been ineffective in his job or at least, lack luster.
sczin11: ‹@Imagist› Why wait till now?
Imagist: A great point! Which brings it back to your political timing thoughts
sczin11: ‹@Imagist› :)
sczin11: JMHO
sczin11: BBL
