chattels: ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – At least 23 Islamic State radicals have been killed in a series of operations directed by the Iraqi security forces in Anbar. Lieutenant Shakir Jawdat, a federal police commander, said in a statement Wednesday, that 23 of the terrorists had been hunted down during fierce clashes between Iraqi security forces and ISIS fighters. 

The security forces managed to advance through ISIS-held areas west of Ramadi, the capital of Anbar Governorate. Jawdat added that during the operations, the Iraqi forces destroyed five ISIS military vehicles, 10 weapon depots west of Ramadi and 75 improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

chattels: ERBIL, Kurdistan Region- Kuwait’s ministry of Interior announced that its security services arrested a terrorist cell with suspected links to members of the Islamic State who mostly fought in Mosul in northern Iraq, some 400 km north of Baghdad. 

The ministry said in a statement on Thursday: “The terrorists confessed to receiving courses in the science of terrorist organization, deviant radical ideology and advanced training in using military weapons, in both Syria and Iraq. The terrorists have taken part in Jihadi activity and fighting in both Syria and Iraq.” 

The terrorist cell consisted of five Kuwaitis, one of which has been killed in Iraq, the statement revealed. On June 26, an ISIS suicide bomber blew himself up in al-Imam al- Sadiq mosque, in Kuwait city, killing 27 people and wounding 227.
