The air raids near the Beiji refinery, some 200 kilometers north of Baghdad, killed 21 militants,\

the ministry said in a statement. Beiji, the largest Iraqi oil producing refinery with a large power plant, has been under ISIS control since June last year. It has been shut since ISIS launched its Iraqi offensive more than a year ago.

Meanwhile, the Sunni tribal council of Fallujah said Friday the militants had executed 22 Iraqi Army soldiers, along with 19 civilians who were accused of collaboration with the military.

“They were summary executions without any trials and just to spread fear,” said Sheikh Ahmad Jomaili, who represents the tribal council. The Iraqi Army has announced it will launch a comprehensive offensive to retake the troubled city, which has been a bastion of Sunni insurgency since after the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.

Donnie: ‹@chattels› GA sir

chattels: ‹@Donnie› hello friend - how does the horizon look to you today ?

Donnie: ‹@chattels› not too good....

Donnie: but i'm a survivor so it will workout one way or the other.

chattels: What Iraq needs to survive In describing the Iraqi dilemma since 2003, some Iraqis have been attributing the problem to political rather than social factors, whereby all disputes were ascribed to political causes.

The prevailing thought among these Iraqis is that Iraq did not suffer from any social, sectarian, religious or ethnic rifts that contributed to this fractious state of affairs. Read more: http://ift.tt/1U6ADse...

KiwiDoc: ‹@chattels› It seems reasonable to think that you can't seperate the religious from the political from the social because the religious is the driving force in that country as well as all of rest of the middle east.

chattels: Social disintegration and other issues facing Iraq require a nationwide reform campaign.

chattels: ‹@KiwiDoc› Nations without separation of church and state can be the most dangerous and difficult

KiwiDoc: ‹@chattels› that would require a religious enightenment, and Islam clings to the past as it's pattern of behavior. Any religion that fails to adapt to the changing morals of a society will always be controlling their masses by doctrine that promises ultimate spiritual protection
chattels: " ... it is futile to seek exclusively political solutions to the social crises engendered by that conflict, such as the growing number of widows, orphans and disabled people as well as the prevalence of poverty and the militarization of society."

chattels: What is required in the context of the country’s political pursuit of initiatives aimed at reaching national reconciliation, as part of preparedness for the post-Islamic State (IS) era, is for the government, politicians, media personalities, religious figures and concerned organizations to seek long-term action and initiatives meant to address social trouble.

KiwiDoc: ‹@chattels› totally agree, but that being said, the number of impoverished, wounded warriors here is growing and most likely we have no clue as to the depth of this problem for us, let alone them.

chattels: religion is a panacea for the masses ?

KiwiDoc: one could use religion for good or bad, recalling "In God We Trust" was on the SS belt buckle

chattels: Religion the Opiate of the Masses ? - Karl Marx

KiwiDoc: Killing in God's name is the ultimate perversion

chattels: ‹@KiwiDoc› I did not know such about the SS belt buckle

chattels: Gott Mit Uns was the motto of the German empire upon it's formation in 1871. The American equivalent since 1956 has been "In God We Trust". However it was only the Wehrmacht who wore the "Gott Mit Uns" belt buckles. The Waffen SS, the actual Nazi Party military force instead wore "My Honor Is Loyalty" (Meine Ehre heißt Treue).

chattels: http://ift.tt/pLYVxX...

http://ift.tt/1HZdijK

KiwiDoc: I believe that any doctrine that takes freedom from the individual is inherently corrupt, and that control of the masses by any means will lead to decline and decay

KiwiDoc: I stand corrected......a belief long held, thanks for that!
