Iran offers state assets to foreigners in investment drive

 Foreigners will then be welcome to enter Iran's economy through joint ventures -- including those in the banking sector -- and direct investment, such as participation in tenders to buy stakes in state companies, he said.

The national oil company will be off-limits to investors but petrochemical and refining firms may be partly sold off, and parliament has given permission for the sale of assets or projects such as hospitals, schools and highways, he added.

Bacdito Rox:  BRICS Bank’s 1st loan to be issued in yuan

The BRICS New Development Bank will name its first investment in April next year and the first loan will be issued in yuan not dollar, top officials confirmed.

The first president of the Bank, Kundapur Vaman Kamath said in Shanghai that the new lender will work closely with the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

“We have partnerships that we will forge with the AIIB, the national loan banks and indeed, the exiting market loan banks,” he said.

China has invested more than 265.1 billion yuan ($43.3 billion ) in domestic railway construction in the first half of the year, up 12.7 percent from one year earlier, China Railway Corporation has announced in Beijing.

To bolster a slowing economy, the Chinese government has made railway infrastructure one of the seven prioritized sectors for investment and export.

China is competing aggressively for overseas rail projects, targeting emerging markets in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia while also pitching for high-profile contracts in the US and EU.
