News, Rumors and Opinions Thursday Afternoon 7-21-16

KTFA:

DELTA:  FROM IRAQI TV:

John Kerry praises at a news conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi , but said " we would like to see some reforms faster ."

EVEN JOHN KERRY WANTS ABADI TO MOVE FASTER.   DELTA

ReddStarr:  The whole world wants Abadi to move faster...

James49:   Yeah Delta but the nice thing would be to have Iraq listen to John Kerry and listen to the IMF but what I think is a big problem over there is that Iraq does not want our military over there but yet we keep imposing our will on them

It's my understanding that we are sending 500 more troops over there why don't we just listen to them and let them take care of their own battle that's what they want to do and I figure that way it might speed up the RV.

DELTA:  HI JAMES49, US PRESENT IN IRAQ IS VERY IMPORTANT, ABADI KNOWS THAT. ABADI WILL GET THE REFORM DONE , AND I BELIEVE HE IS WAITING FOR THE RIGHT TIMING ,

ALSO REMEMBER THE US WILL HELP THEM TO START THE FINANCIAL REFORMS IN THE CBI.  IMO STARTNG NEXT WEEK WE SHOULD SEE SOME ACTION TAKING PLACE.

Don961:  Just IMO- Abadi MUST root out the corruption before they steal everything coming in and he MUST get people in the government that are qualified to run the country and turn it around for the citizens. Anyone griping about it is tied to the corruption!

Aggiedad77:  Great articles today from you, DB (Doodlebug) , and Redd when he is able to post.....some folks are getting anxious for conclusive action it would seem....but I for one continue to give Abadi a great deal of credit for the effort and work he has put into Iraq as their leader.....

You don't have to agree with me....but just understand that Abadi is fighting war on many fronts, not just with DAASH/ISIS, but with major corruption in all areas of Iraq, and especially so with some higher level government officials who do not want to see their little kingdoms broken down, so they fight him every step of the way....

He battles one side of the clerics of Iraq....that being Sadr who is making demands that he believes need immediate priority....when the ousting of terrorism should be first and foremost on all their minds....

IMO....first things first and Sadr is not there.....he's still got the likes of Maliki and all his goons who are still walking about to deal with.....he has to contend with Iran and their pushy ways.....all in all he's doing better than most want to give him credit for.....hard-headed, shrewd, and very smart....he is......he now has the resignations of those who may have been pushing against him in some less than public ways and he has the opportunity to insert those technocrats he wanted to start with.....

Let's hope they hit the ground running.....my opinion about Mosul.......it's coming....and I'm thinking it won't take until October to start things.....in all likelihood things will be done by October....IMO.

Don your comments a few posts above this one you made I agree with totally.....keep focused on the most important issue...that of terrorism and eradicating it as best you can.....the protesters and demonstrators can wait.....Iraq needs to shed the dark cloak of terrorism as quickly as possible and they are working diligently in that direction.....IMO.    Aloha    Randy

HSBC Global Head Of FX Cash Trading Arrested At JFK Airport

by Tyler Durden     Jul 20, 2016 12:21 PM

A historic event took place moments ago when Mark Johnson, the global head of cash FX at HSBC was arrested at JFK airport for his role in a "conspiracy to rig currency benchmarks", and specifically for frontrunning customer orders. He is the first person charged by the US in the ongoing FX rigging probe.

As Bloomberg reports, a "senior manager at HSBC Holdings Plc was arrested in New York for his role in a conspiracy to rig currency benchmarks, according to two people familiar with the matter, becoming the first person to be charged in the Justice Department’s three-year investigation into foreign-exchange rigging at global banks."

The DOJ adds that Mark Johnson, 50, a U.K. citizen and U.K. and U.S. resident, and Stuart Scott, 43, a U.K. citizen and resident, were charged by complaint with conspiracy to commit wire fraud.  Johnson was arrested last night at JFK International Airport in Queens, New York, and will be arraigned later today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Lois Bloom of the Eastern District of New York
