Whatever: IMO they have to launch their own RV'd currency first and let the citizens get used to using the newly valued currency along with going to banks, something they have never trusted. After that they can launch the e-currencies. I guess we'll see..

Colorado: excellent point Backdoc. I was reading an article by the Federal Bank of St. Louis on asset-backed currency/monetary policy, and even they state that fiat and asset-backed currency would operate in tandum.

It makes sense that both paper and digital would also work together in tandum, for a whole variety of reasons.
I suspect we will never go completely digital. In my mind, that spells disaster. Especially, the global elite will never go completely digital, they might put the masses on completely digital, but they will always collect their paper, gold, silver and ancient coins.
