Wednesday News Summaries and Commentaries
Good Morning Family, I know that JR has said the forum will be going down at 9:00 am central today, may they be successful in their server work. Meanwhile I will try and at least "cherry-pick" some news articles this morning before we go down and get them posted for everyone.
Parliamentary Finance demanding the ouster Governor of the Central Bank
This is some very serious allegations being made by the head of the Finance Committee....we've seen this from more than one source and have to believe at this point anyway that they are pushing for this ouster of the current governor of the CBI....although from all that has been made public thus far I do not see where their accusations can necessarily hold any water.....

....
The CBI posts a number for the sale of the dollar in this case 1190.....then on the street it is sold to who ever will buy at a price of 1335....these are street marketers I am led to believe.....and if this is true how can the CBI have any input over what they choose to see at....this is a supply and demand issue in my mind....
The Finance Committee through Article 50 of the 2015 budget basically hamstrung the CBI with a limit of how much they can sell on any given day....well below the levels they had previously been selling.....this fiasco started with the implementation of this restriction at the end of January this year....yet now the head of the Fin Comm wants the governor's head on a platter for what is going on.....this committee would not be welcome at my table.....just saying.
Ratify sentenced to 45 years for an employee embezzled more than three billion dinars
Wow one individual gets 45 years imprisonment for a mere 3 billion dinar embezzlement......what will dear old Maliki get for the hundreds of billions of dinars he bilked out of the country.....on top of the other atrocities that he masterminded like the fall of Mosul.....this is good they are holding those who illegally took the currency in this fashion...it sends the right kind of message in my opinion that this is not something you want to continue doing.
Kuwait donates $ 200 million to support displaced people in Iraq
This is mighty big of Kuwait to come forward with $200 million dollars in a form of support for those displaced people within Iraq....especially after so many years of their own people being unaccounted for in Iraq after the 1990 invasion.....a great turn towards true humanitarian efforts on their part with a former enemy.....they are also helping in similar ways to those being displaced in Syria.
Washington is considering the establishment of a new base for the training of the Iraqi Army in Anbar
People in Washington centered around the Dept of Defense is considering the establishment of an additional base for training Sunni tribesmen in Anbar....they are also talking of sending an additional 500 troops and trainers to the province as well as efforts mount up to stand up to DAASH forces in the province....
Not sure how long these "talks and discussions" will take....but I've long operated on the old adage, "study long study wrong"......make a decision and get off the pot....we are either going to further support the Iraqi effort....we are either going to see this threat from DAASH as a potential world-wide threat and offer the right amount and type of aid to combat their advances.....or we are going to stick our heads in the sand.
Zebari calls for Washington to help Iraq in tracking money laundering operations
Iraqi Finance Minister Zebari is calling upon the UST to help in tracking down money that is being smuggled out of Iraq....this effort will largely focus on what DAASH might be doing in their attempts to take large sums of Iraqi money outside of the country and stashing it in foreign banks.
Iraqi Kurdistan warns oil output at risk of collapse on lack of funds
For years the Kurds have had a good working relationship with the oil companies that have moved in to help produce and export their oil....this relationship may be showing signs of cracks in the foundation if the Kurds continue to be unable to make payments for work done.....the Kurds are not getting their full share of the approved budget (17%) and have not received that full share in quite some time due to differences with first Maliki's government and now with PM Abadi's government....
They continue to squabble over the counting of barrels of oil being exported to Turkey via their pipeline....squabbling over the payment method between Baghdad and Erbil.....they need to sit at the table and talk about commonalities says deputy PM Shaways....himself a Kurd who has much at stake in this discussion.

Jubouri investors meet in Washington
Speaker of Parliament Jubouri is in Washington and will be meeting with potential investors while there.....looking for ways to draw investors to Iraq in an attempt to improve their struggling economy......he is well aware of red tape issues and says they are working on improved investment laws that will be good for the investor once they are put into play....in a meeting with the US Chamber of Commerce investment challenges for Iraq were discussed....he has also discussed security issues as well as continued support from the International Coalition forces that are helping Iraq with air strikes at this time.
Send US special forces to Iraq between denial and confirm
Special Forces.....could they be on the way to Iraq....I'm of the mind they may already be in Iraq....remember what Frank has taught...that if you are seeing it in the news today it has already happened.....I'm thinking at least the decision has been made to activate these forces.....destination Iraq....Anbar.
Well as Frank sleeps let's take a cookie break.....but be careful not to eat them all.....I happen to know he is surrounded by places that sell some of the best macadamia nut cookies and other goodies.....again pray for a successful migration of servers today....third time is a charm. Aloha Randy
