Well from the sound of initial reports we should be hearing that the COM approved the budget today and will be forwarding it on to Parliament where there is a request to keep political differences away from the budget process and get this budget approved as quickly as possible.....well I'm not holding my breath yet for that to happen.....be looking today for a vote on the Investment Law by Parliament if they hold true to their word.
Parliament plans to prevent journalists from entering the premises
Now I don't believe there is any intent to "hide" things from the media with regard to this action being taken by Parliament.....but perhaps this is an additional security measure taken as a result of recent reform efforts from PM Abadi where security teams for Parliament members have been reduced in size.....

Perhaps this is an effort to keep potential threats away from Parliament by creating a new facility to house the media where they will be able to witness via life streaming broadcasts the activities that are ongoing in Parliament.
I would also imagine this can cut down on any potential disruptions by having the media directly in the Parliament chambers.....none the less an interesting move on the part of the Iraqi Parliament.
Kuwait postponement of the budget that contributes to the compensation process
In the back of my mind I was "pondering" what would come of this payment to Kuwait that had been originally postponed last year......probably a wise choice on behalf of Iraq to ask again for another postponement since money remains tight at this point in time.....and it is good of the Kuwaiti's to agree to such an action, it shows trust on their side....the remaining balance is reported at $4.6 billion dollars.

So the title says the budget has been approved by COM.....but the article speaks slightly differently.....I believe they will approve this budget for 2016 today and pass it along to Parliament.....but as of this article's timing I'm not sure it has been approved at this point.....
They are being hush-hush about the actual numbers associated with the budget for now waiting to announce anything until it is ready for Parliament....PM Abadi is wanting Parliament to keep political differences away from the budget discussion and get this approved as quickly as possible....time will tell on that matter.

News from the COM today that indicates salary changes are coming the first of November for many.

Iraqi President Masum spoke out today about the situation with his Vice Presidents...saying...."what vice presidents" I have none....he spoke of PM Abadi's reform process and the fact that Parliament had approved the dissolution of the positions so he really had no say in the event.....he said that salaries of the VP's has been halted, but those staff members who are still onboard continue to get paid until their final status is determined.
Well I need to be smelling a couple of eggs cooking right now and I don't so I guess I need to make that happen myself....be back later with whatever updates and summaries of news that busts later in the day....enjoy this Sunday with God and Family.
