Tishwash:  German defense minister arrives in Erbil

http://ift.tt/1OSipKh

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Erbil Monday evening after several meetings with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad the same day, reports Rudaw’s Sangar Abdulrahman at the Erbil International Airport.

Von der Leyen was received by senior Kurdish officials upon her arrival.

"Von der Leyen is scheduled to visit a German training base in Erbil at first, and later will meet Masoud Barzani, the president of the Kurdistan region, and Nechirvan Barzani, the prime minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government," said Abdulrahman.

Von der Leyen met Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi and Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri earlier Monday.

In September 2014 on her first visit to the Kurdistan region, von der Leyen assured the Kurdistan region at a press conference with Masoud Barzani that Germany would assist the region in the fight against ISIS, vowing to supply the Peshmerga with sufficient weapons.

"It is clear that a lot of support has arrived but more is needed," said von der Leyen at the press conference, adding that Berlin would consider sending military doctors to work alongside the Peshmerga on the front lines.

Von der Leyen' second visit to the Kurdistan region took place in January 2015

Germany has been one of the main providers of anti-tank missiles to the Peshmerga.

Rudaw has learned that 100 German advisers have trained 1,000 Peshmerga. Germany has handed over military aid worth $77 million to the Kurdistan region, including 30 MILAN missile launchers with 500 missiles.

The first cargo plane carrying the first delivery of high-tech German weapons arrived in Erbil on September 25, 2014 following Leyen’s first visit.

Greatly Blessed:   Iran to join BRICS New Development Bank – report

Tehran intends to participate in the BRICS New Development Bank, the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported on Monday, citing an Iranian official.

The Iranian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Mohammad Khazaee said at a meeting of a joint Iran-Brazil economic council that the country is aiming to join the BRICS bank.

The Bank was established in July at the BRICS summit in the Russian city of Ufa. The NDB intends to promote sustainable development in BRICS states. The start-up capital is $50 billion and is projected to reach $100 billion. The headquarters of the bank is in Shanghai.
NDB is headed by a veteran Indian banker KV Kamath, who said the bank would be giving its first loans in April 2016.

BRICS - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - comprise about 30 percent of world's GDP in PPP terms and are projected to increase to as much as 45 percent by 2030. The bloc already accounts for 17 percent of world trade.

Last week, Russian Energy Minister Aleksandr Novak visited Iran where he negotiated a Russia-Iran bank to boost joint projects. The report of Iran joining BRICS bank appears to be linked to Novak’s visit.

Wydawake:  Getting the BIG Picture

The BIG Picture

At an early age, my Dad energized me with the concept of viewing all things as part of “the BIG picture.” We spent a lot of time camping and hiking in the wilderness areas of the Wasatch and Rocky Mountains.

He would point out the eagles soaring so high they were almost out of sight and tell me the eagle was looking for a small mouse hiding in the grass. He said the higher you get, the more you can see, IF you have trained your eyes to focus on the smallest details. That became part of my lifestyle, looking at the Big Picture that was made up of small details.

This IQD adventure to me is a journey from right here where I am to “Vegas Vegas Vegas” for the purpose of accumulating details necessary for launching a unique dream that will touch every nation, kindred, tongue, culture and people of all ages.

This trip that we all talk about starts right where you are and requires you to do two things:

1. Determine where you are. Most of the unhappiness in the Chats, Forums and calls comes from not facing the reality of where they are in life. They haven't discovered the vision of seeing themselves as others see them or hear them. You have to know the reality of who and where you are. You can't get out of “here” until you know where “here” is.

2. Determine where you are going. You have to know where you are going. If you don't know where you are going, how will you know when you get there?

When planning a trip, those are the first two things you look for when you get out the map. There are multiple choice routes. You have to do your research to determine the route that best fits your vision. Oh Yes! You have to have a vision.

Without a vision, you die a very miserable death. Every journey has detours. Plan on them. Look forward to them with eager anticipation. That's where you learn valuable things you didn't know you needed to know before you get to Vegas.

Every delay is an opportunity for a detourial educational experience. Take advantage of everything that will expand your BIG Picture, your vision.

Why do you think the Dodo bird is extinct? He couldn't jump high enough to get the BIG picture. Why do most Power Ball winners end up broke? They never knew there WAS a Big picture.

Long ago, the Master Teacher told His graduating class of 12, "The poor you have with you always". They show up on conference calls, in Chat Rooms, on Forums, in the family, in church, in business, and as neighbors and friends. Some are poor self-managers with poor self-discipline.

Some have poor attitudes. Some have poor eyesight and are blind to the world around them. Some have a poor self-image and have developed poor thinking and poor reasoning. Some are millionaires and billionaires who have lost their vision and have poor wisdom and poor judgment. They're everywhere!

There are none so blind as those who won't see. Some can’t be helped. Some won’t be helped.

There are many ways to be poor. No one is exempt. Hey, not even me! We all have blind spots. My wife and kids point them out every day! Everyone fits into the BIG picture, just like we are.

The brilliant colors of the landscape below come from those who are RICH in kindness, mercy, grace, comfort, encouragement, patience, helpful and giving toward those who are in some strange way poor in a different way than I am.

The Master Teacher also said that in as much as we have helped one of the poorest of these, we have ministered to Him. He also gave instruction on how to deal with a fool. Don’t confuse the two.

The fool is a category like no other. Don't waste your time. But the poor? Heaven will be full of them. Some look at the poor and say, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

My Dad had a cattle and sheep ranch in Northeastern Utah before I arrived on the scene. He said that whoever came up with that saying didn't know horses. If you have one that refuses to drink, all you have to do is take a handfull of salt and throw it into his mouth.

Shortly he will be headed for the trough for water. The poor may need some salt to stimulate the desire to get a vision. A vision of where they are and a vision of where they want to go. They will naturally look for a map. And yes, the Master Teacher taught His class that they were the salt that brought flavor into the Big Picture.

Make a place in your Big Picture for developing the fine art of applying salt in the right amount at the right time to get the right result. In so doing, you will bring your Big Picture into full color. Caution with the salt! When misused, it will turn your colorful Big Picture into the Bonneville Salt Flats.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip. My focus is on the BIG picture and how I can find a place in the landscape that needs some color. From up here, the vision is clear and blooming!

My challenge to every Dinarian is to discern the difference between the "poor" and the "fool", then use your "rich" inginuity to add the beauty of color to all our communications. Be patient. The fool and his money are soon parted. Enjoy the poor. They will always be with us.

Enjoy the trip!!  The RV is just the beginning!!   WydaWake
