Millionday: OCT 21ST,2015 RESULTS >>>Members of ECOSOC must be elected by a two-thirds majority. In the event of a tie, the Assembly would proceed to second round of voting restricted to candidates with equal number of votes. However, in this instance, voting was completed in a single round, as the General Assembly approved the candidates endorsed by the regional groups.

Afghanistan, Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Chile, the Czech Republic, Guyana, Italy, Iraq, Lebanon, Moldova, Nigeria, Peru, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, the United States, and Vietnam were elected to serve on ECOSOC for the 2016-2018 term

Millionday: NOW LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT THIS IS -- IT BEGAN IN 1945
Millionday: SMILE

Millionday: According to the General Assembly’s rules of procedure, member states are eligible for immediate re-election to ECOSOC following the expiration of their term. During today’s session, Australia, Italy, South Africa, and the United States were re-elected as members of the Council.

Notably, the United States has served longer on the Council than any other member, having first been elected in 1945.

In addition to these changes, Ireland will replace Austria on the Council at the end of 2015 as part of an internal agreement within the Western European and Others Group. In recent years, WEOG members have occasionally agreed to divide ECOSOC terms between two member states.

Millionday: WHAT IS IT ?>>The Security Council is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations. According to Chapters 5-7 of the UN Charter the Council bears primary responsibility for the “maintenance of international peace and security.”

The Security Council is made up of only fifteen members, making it the smallest of the principal organs. This group of fifteen includes five non-elected, permanent members (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States), leaving only ten countries as the elected portion. By contrast, the General Assembly includes all 192 member states and ECOSOC has 54 elected members.

Millionday: NOTE -- IRAQ IS ONE OF THE ELECTED COUNTRIES FOR 2016

Millionday: Proposals for the expansion of the Security Council’s membership and reform of its working methods to incorporate more transparency mechanisms currently are being considered in the General Assembly.

The scope of the term “international peace and security” is currently a topic of discussion and disagreement between the Security Council – who see security as a widening concept as global circumstances shift – and members of the General Assembly, who are wary of Security Council “encroachment” on issues under the GA purview.

Millionday: NOTE -- READ INTERNATIONAL BENEFITS FOR THE UNITED NATIONS

Millionday: SO AS WE SEE -- POSITIVES ARE FUNDS TO THE UN BUDGET

Millionday: Began IMF policies lose a lot of realism, and its ability to meet the debts of countries that are related to programs and projects and policies of the fund, due to the failure of this fund in the ratification of the reform of the quota system and governance of the Fund, which has been agreed upon five years ago.

Crossed International Monetary and Financial Committee of the Fund, which includes 24 members, its dissatisfaction over the slow procedures in the reform and to secure foster programs to regulate the conditions of governance as an expression of good governance.
