Finance Committee held a meeting headed by MP Ahmad Chalabi, Chairman of the Committee on Thursday 10/9/2015, in the presence of a number of the members of the Committee and MP Mahmoud Hassan, head of the Legal Committee, and Mr. Mohammed Jabr past the State Council adviser.
The meeting discussed a draft law combating money laundering and terrorism financing in order to submit it to a vote in the House of Representatives.

Central Bank reserves to fall to 60 billion dinars and budget faces a shortfall of up to 25 billion
[tlm724] Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq said that the decline in oil revenues reduced the country's foreign exchange reserves to about $ 60 billion

Projections by subtracting Iraq six billion dollars in bonds for sale in the global auction
[tlm724] that Iraq is preparing this month to raise six billion dollars in the form of securities for sale in the international auction.
[tlm724] the nature of those bonds amounting to six billion dollars will be promoted with international such as issuing dollar bonds to finance the state treasury and to assist in development.
[tlm724] The Ministry of Finance bonds offered for sale from the Rafidain and Rasheed at local auctions to cover the budget deficit
[tlm724] sorta like two tranches, two different offerings, the international bonds are being sold in dollars, the local bonds are being sold in dinars and being paid back in dollars
[tlm724] as we talked about yesterday, the international bonds must be done in dollars because the dinar is not an international currency
[tlm724] in other words if we wanted to buy some of these international bonds we couldn't go into the bank here in the US with dinars to pay for them, it has to be dollars

Iraq borrowed from the Islamic Development Bank $ 500 million
[tlm724] She added that "$ 225 million will be used in the development and renewal of major trade corridor linking Iraq to neighboring countries."
[tlm724] now thats good news they need this corridor !
[tlm724] it is expected to support the Islamic Development Bank Group (Bank and the private sector arm and the arm of insurance and trade finance arm) public and private sectors through project and trade finance.
