Wealthwatch Early AM Discussion 7-23-15 Part 2 of 2
Post From Wealthwatch.world Chat Room 7-23-15 Early Early Morning

chattels: the foregoing is likely a good analysis / extention of my simplistic statement that the world of international banking and commerce must accept / assign / embrace a value to the IQD. that banks will not exchange an increased value to the dinar if they cannot reliably profit from the transaction.

chattels: increasingly I am persuaded that it is essential for Iraq to have a long term hydrocarbon law and be able to abide / perform in accordance with the terms thereof

chattels: such will require consensus and legislative action which continues to be a challenge for the Iraqi Parliament

chattels: who is right and who is wrong in the ongoing analysis of where we are on this journey will be forgotten and insignificant at the end of the day. what we will remember is how we treated one another and made each other feel along the way.

chattels: I encourage you all as I encourage myself and pray for you all as I pray for myself. Fight the good fight, holding on to faith and good conscience. God bless us everyone.

sczin11: MALIKI SAID WHAT? SAUDIA ARABIA PRINCE CALLS ICC TO ARREST FOR GENOCIDE-IRAQ RESPONDS

NearTheSea: wow

sczin11: GOOOD MORNING EVERYBODY...

tourman: Maliki is surrounded and that noose is gettin tighter

chattels: BAGHDAD — US Defense Secretary Ash Carter arrived unannounced in Baghdad on Thursday to assess the government's progress in healing the country's sectarian divisions and hear the latest on support for the Iraqi army's coming attempt to recapture the key city of Ramadi from the Islamic State. It is Carter's first visit to Iraq since he took office in February.

chattels: Carter is not expected to announce any major change in US strategy or increase in US troop levels. The approximately 3,360 troops now in Iraq are largely involved in training Iraqi troops, advising Iraqi commanders on battle plans, and providing security for US personnel and facilities.

chattels: The visit, however, comes at an important moment for the Iraqi government, which has announced a counteroffensive to retake Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province. The actual assault on the city has not yet begun, but a Pentagon spokesman, Army Col. Steve Warren, said it could start within several weeks

Imagist: US strategy?

chattels: ‹@Imagist› your question is ?

chattels: American military leaders have said they would recommend to Obama that he approve moving US military advisers and perhaps special operations forces closer to the front lines if they believed it would make a decisive difference at certain stages of the Iraqi campaign.

But Warren said no such recommendation has yet been made. Obama's critics in Congress complain that he is missing an opportunity to swiftly defeat the Islamic State by not sending US ground combat troops or at least placing military advisers with Iraqi units to make them more effective.

Imagist: ‹@chattels› Didnt mean to break into your article... I didn't know the US had an actual strategy - unless no plan is a strategy

chattels: Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who visited Iraq last weekend, supports Obama's approach. He told a congressional hearing July 7 that he realizes the Islamic State's threat to the US homeland "could increase" as a result of what he called a patient US approach in Iraq and Syria.

chattels: "But I also would suggest to you that we would contribute mightily to ISIS's message as a movement were we to confront them directly on the ground in Iraq and Syria," he said, using an acronym for the Islamic State and alluding to the risk of enhancing the group's ability to recruit fighters.

chattels: ‹@Imagist› there is a strategy articulated for Iraq and to some degree Syria

chattels: one has to follow Carter and Dempsey to glean some notions about it

[09:31:06 AM] chattels: ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Iraq will receive new military tanks and warplanes from the Czech Republic and South Korea through military agreements the government signed with the two members of the international coalition that is fighting the Islamic State, or ISIS, in Iraq and Syria, an Iraqi parliamentarian said.

chattels: Zamli, a prominent Shiite leader pointed out that the dependence on airstrikes carried out solely by the US-led coalition had proved ineffective.

"Seventy-five percent of the planes fly and land without carrying out their missions,”he said, without providing evidence of his estimate.

chattels: Hard to believe the foregoing

chattels: more shiite

tourman: no surprise there, that is Obama's policy of giving aid and comfort to the enemy

chattels: “The warplanes purchased from both countries are believed to be handed over to Iraq separately in the near future. With the arrival of the equipment, the Iraqi air force will be much more active, changing the fighting equation against Daesh," he said, using the Arabic acronym for ISIS.

tourman: or no affective ground forces to guide planes to targets ^^^^^^^

chattels: we can anticipate greater collateral damage once the Iraqi pilots begin their missions

Doug_W: ‹@chattels› that is an unfortunate fact of war
chattels: ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Kurdish forces bombarded several ISIS weapons depots and military bases Thursday on the Nawaran front in northern Mosul province, a Peshmerga spokesman said.

“Peshmerga forces conducted four attacks on ISIS, destroying weapons depots and military bases in the Khorsabad village on the Nawaran front, at 5:20am Thursday, causing material damage and heavy casualties among ISIS radicals,” said Brigadier Dilshad Mawlood, media officer of the Peshmerga Zeravani force.

chattels: The Nawaran front is located on the Nineveh plain, some 10km northeast of Mosul city.[chattels: http://ift.tt/1Ny5Ort...

chattels: ASPEN, Colorado — The Islamic State group's effort to inspire troubled Americans to violence has become more of a terror threat to the US than an external attack by al-Qaida, the FBI director said Wednesday.

FBI Director James Comey told an audience at the Aspen Security Forum that the Islamic State group, which has proclaimed a caliphate in parts of Syria and Iraq, has influenced a significant but unknown number of Americans through a year-long campaign on social media urging Muslims who can't travel to the Middle East to "kill where you are."

tourman: “War does not determine who is right - only who is left.”

chattels: Obama administration to defend Iran nuclear deal in Senate By Associated Press

chattels: The deal does not need congressional approval to take effect, but Republicans are expected to try and sink it with legislation that would block Obama from lifting sanctions imposed by Congress. The president has vowed to veto any such bill, and it would take a two-thirds majority in each house of the Republican-controlled Congress to override him.
