Tuesday News Summaries and Commentaries
How do you spell "money" Family if you are in Iraq.....L.I.Q.U.I.D.I.T.Y.......my brother Pappa-J hit on it in a post already this morning....reaffirming something I mentioned in my summaries yesterday....maybe this bond thing has already taken affect,
We see evidence of things being paid that just a few days ago would have probably been swept under the rug....not oil companies being paid...but they are....not debt being paid...but it is....BUT payments being made to citizens.....the very heart of Iraq its citizens....who have for so long been neglected....
You will see an article that WS posted yesterday and reposted today about them being paid....25,000 IQD....I know not much....but when you consider all the millions of people in Iraq and see each one being given a 25k note....that has to be coming from somewhere and I can assure it is not Maliki's pocket.
Great CC last night Frank and team and Frosty wonderful notes.

The COM is offering everyone a two day holiday that turns into a multiple day holiday for them on account of celebrations for the death of Iman Kadhim.
Near the launch of e-governance
Important announcement from the Ministry of Communications....they are almost ready to have all forms of government both at the state level and in the provinces hooked up via telecommunications....a great feat for the Iraqis as they continue to push forward in the internet world.....this project had been through delays due to budget problems...but is now being completed....another way to spell LIQUIDITY within Iraq.....they keep laying these little hints of good things to come.
Abadi receives President of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
The Japanese JICA organization met with PM Abadi in his office and among things discussed was their support for Iraq in their fight against terrorism, they provided him with a presentation that demonstrated some of the good work their organization has done within Iraq in completing projects in some of Iraq's provinces....they also spoke of continued support in areas being liberated from the terrorists and want to help with reconstruction efforts.
Arbil, Baghdad received more than trillion dinars .. and Kurdistan politician to hold a meeting to take a stand against the oil agreement
The Kurd PM Barzani is meeting in Arbil this week with his ministers and others to determine the stance that the Kurds will take with the central government in Baghdad regarding payment to the Kurds that continues to be withheld....the Kurds continue to claim they have upheld their side of the agreement reached in December 2014 and later made a part of the 2015 budget which was to pump 550,000 per day....
They say this was done in April....while SOMO the marketing arm for oil for Baghdad is claiming they only metered 498,000 barrels per day from the Kurds.....meanwhile Baghdad is reluctant to make payment to the Kurds....the Kurds claim their 17% of the budget amounts to 1.4 trillion IQD per month.....
Baghdad did deposit 488 billion dinars in the Kurd account for April, but the Oil Ministry claims it was PM Abadi's decision to withhold 650 billion dinars from the Kurds for April.....no comment from Abadi's office or himself specifically at this point in time.
25 000 dinars per citizen instead of ration is received
This is the repost that I spoke of up above.....25k notes being issued to citizens for rations that have not been distributed in the past year....this amount will be distributed within the next 10 days they claim.....for grain, rice, oil and other sundry items normally received by each Iraqi.
Three factors will raise trading Iraq Stock Exchange
The ISX is expected to rise over the next month.....do you wonder why.....three things appear to be heading in the direction of a positive impact for the exchange.....first a loan from the World Bank, secondly, reassurance by the government regarding employee salaries being safe, and third, the entry of 13 private companies in the stock exchange....and I predict a fourth reason that is mentioned here in undertones as well....that of security....security that has not been seen within Iraq since the June 10th 2014 DAASH attacks upon Mosul....security is improving all across Iraq.
Parliamentary Finance: 300 000 dinars every five years tax on sedan
The Finance Committee.....getting well known for their last minute bombshell announcements....this time just before the 2 day holiday, they come forward with a tax that will be levied upon vehicle owners of 300,000 IQD ever 5 years, or 60,000 IQD each year....of course they exempt farm vehicles because they do not travel the highways....they have never been to North Dakota then....expect to see all other amendments pertaining to the new tax law ending just after the 2 day holiday.
The central bank oversees the financial accounts of the campaign "our people"
The CBI is overseeing efforts associated with financing efforts to help the displaced citizens of Iraq...the CBI is offering their support as a form of legitimacy to the overall work being carried out by private banks and companies to provide aid to those who have been displaced from their homes in the recent past....this comes as a confidence builder for the people with their banking industry.
Decisions of the 19th session of the Council of Ministers headed by Haidar al-Abbadi
The COM held their weekly meeting, headed by PM Abadi.....they covered four items from their agenda, one of which seems of most importance....that the Ministry of Finance be allowed to conduct the required settlement of debt in coordination with relevant authorities....this has me wondering out loud for a minute....
Does this pertain to debt associated with countries/companies outside of Iraq that are owed at this time....or could it have an impact on such areas as the Kurdistan and what money is believed to be owed to them....Abadi giving the Minister of Finance the authority to make such deals as necessary to take care of certain debts.
Nazareth renews its call for the Council of Ministers approving the mechanism of payment on credit, and confirms receive offers from some companies and banks for the financing and implementation of projects on creditMon,
Hmmm, kind of interesting with the timing of things here given what was just covered by the COM meeting today and what they allowed the Minister of Finance to do.....here comes the Dhi Qar province seeking funds to get projects restarted....show us how this "work on credit" program is supposed to work....a number of projects are stalled where payments are being demanded before more work continues....to the tune of 87 billion dinars.....so what can you do for us out here in the trenches central government....we are in a spot and could use your support today.
The governor of Dhi Qar: Chinese made presentations industrial projects occupy thousands of manpower, and delayed the industrial cities law prevented implementedTue,
The governor of Dhi Qar province is letting it be known that he has a number of Chinese companies that have sat for four years poised and ready to bring factories and industry to the province but the province has lacked in funds to get these efforts to build an industrial city for the province...this continues to put a hamper on economics for the province and for the country....it also causes the job force within Iraq to continue to suffer.....we have investors but they want something from us for their work and effort...what can we offer.

It confirms the abolition of the parliamentary economic investment laws developed by Bremer
We saw some evidence of laws brought about by Paul Bremer after the fall of Saddam now being abolished last week....now this week we see further confirmation from the Economy and Investment Committee within Parliament to oust these laws that were made during the initial part of the US occupation as being restrictive and hampering investment potential for Iraq and today they are being abolished....new laws that are being put into place are being seen as progressive in their support for revitalizing the Iraqi economy as well as bringing renewed support via the CBI to the banking industry...especially so with private banks.....improvements are on the horizon it would seem.
State of Law: Barzani and Nujaifi partners to America and not to the central government
As the noose turns so turns the opinion of some within the State of Law coalition....claiming that PM Abadi and the governor of Nineveh Najafi both are partnering with the US instead of the Iraqi central government....anyone want to venture a guess where this article might have originated from.....probably stamped and sealed by M....in his stuporous coma of course....this is the last of the last of the last of Maliki's stronghold trying to build a wedge between Abadi and the people.....a wedge between Maliki and any wrong-doing he is accused of in the province of Nineveh last year when DAASH marched in unopposed by Maliki's army.....oh how the snake squeals when it gets run over multiple times.
Abadi Office Hungary surprised support for the independence of Kurdistan and calls for respect for the sovereignty of Iraq
After witnessing Hungary's support toward the Kurds with independence in mind, PM Abadi's office issued statements that ask the world to respect Iraq's sovereignty as a nation and to please stop meddling in our internal affairs....allow us to work things out amongst ourselves.....please support all of Iraq in the fight that is ongoing against terrorism.
The Ministry of Labor launches loans worth ten million dinars per registered unemployed has stresses: will include 3,300 people
The Ministry of Labor has found money from somewhere that enables it to offer loans of up to 10 million IQD to those who are registered as unemployed.....this could include as many as 3,300 people....the Ministry says it has upwards of 266 billion IQD for this process and that loans may range from 5 million to 20 million IQD and average around 10 million IQD....primarily used for food for those who are jobless right now and looking for employment.
