BGG: these regulations - and bringing all banking elements in Iraq under them - signals some coming attempt to "align" with the world.

BGG carpet: with all the possible distractions - it is impossible to say... anyone who does is foolish. However, in spite of the security challenges - Parliament and much of the GOI appear to be moving forward "with prejudice"... (that means "with purpose")

BGG quicktolegit96: personally - they have been losing ground steadily - they threw everything they had at Ramadi and it paid off (at least for now)...
BGG quicktolegit96: I don't foresee this as a long term outcome - there is concern they will aim at Baghdad - I doubt it. They won big so far... but they are at the very edge of their reach - they have so little support out there and are an easy target to be cut off.
TBolton: Apparently, the USA gave the 'green light' and Iraq has everything completed and wants to 'go'. From the word on the street, the USA will not stop it, nor will anyone else.
We are being told that all should "GO". In spite of the security challenges and Parliament, and much of the GOI appear to be moving forward "with prejudice"/purpose, how do you feel about the possibility of the Dinar being recognized internationally 'soon'? (like before Ramadan?)

BGG wvchsr19: I don't think the Dinar is part of the scandal - it's not "internationally tradable" yet... but you can bet once it is - they will be up to their tricks.

Papatom: it was pretty much a dollar / euro problem. the banks involved are HUGE ForX banks and were trying to up profits with "arranged buy's and sells"......

BGG: P.S. as a follow-up to some of the earlier commentary - this conversation about security, stability etc, etc, etc... is the "hold-up" behind the delay...
BGG: I was reviewing some past articles... 2011, 2012 and 2013 - they used the EXACT SAME rhetoric - so quite honestly - I'm not sold on the recent ramblings about a 50k note - a security delay - and then the "deleting of the 3 zero's" - JMHO, of course...
