Response to new law for increased access to cash for Iraqi citizens:
1. The law has been passed, but, it has not been engaged. Hard to engage when they have no liquidity!! But, the law is there. Now, look at what the law does:
2. The CBI and the private/public banks will have significant oversight of all transactions. The fact that they are increasing withdrawal amounts demonstrates they have better security!!

3. This also demonstrate they are feeling better about the future "liquidity" which I believe is most important at this stage.
4. Getting citizens to "go to the bank" is a priority for the CBI so providing increased access to ATM's via "internet" which they will be able to do with their new Qi cards as well as getting LD's via the bank to me...is all very encouraging.
Lastly, the increased cash flow is meant for banks to stimulate investment for projects both private and public. SUPER!!!
The question you must ask now....why did they just pass this law? Timing is definitely interesting!! IMO

Bernice » Z....like your post 173....but can you answer a few questions for me?....I realize that in order to get credit they check credit rating and previous credit...you have to have assets and ability to pay back any kind of loan....but why are we still getting more loans?..
when they went thru books they very obviously saw the assets and the availablilty to pay back with raising of the value of currency... but still we are in holding pattern... with sovernity is being look at as well assets?...
if granted soverneity then currency should be international right? hope you understand this...lol....

Boxman: I am not Z...but IMHO...Iraq( without liquidity, cash) is like the person that has a thousand acre field of wheat, ready for harvest, but no money to hire workers or machinery to reap the field..the bank will lend you funds to harvest the field as long as you pledge the crop as collateral...much like Iraq and its resources...
I believe this is one of the major reason they are pushing to set up a sovereign fund IMHO

Eagle1968: About a week or two ago i posted during lunch that my XE Currency app was going nuts with numbers. I got the same numbers as BacDoc posted last night & my USD has always been set to $1.0 IMO They are messing with the numbers & we are able to catch them a little at a time...Hopefully & PRAYERFULLY soon they will just press the button & do this. DR S & A have the ability to make this truly a great RAMADAN & not a RAMA-DUD like it has been for the last few years.
