Wednesday News Summaries and Commentaries

US pressure on al-Abadi: Atadmj to the popular crowd with National Guard Political Since 01/09/2015 18:21 pm (Baghdad time)

Someone within Iraq....and I stress some "one" is complaining that the US is putting pressure upon PM Abadi and the National Alliance to keep the Popular Crowd from becoming a part of the National Guard....probably a good idea on Abadi's part to be hesitant to bring that group in the National Guard group,

They consist mostly of Shiite's who are sympathetic to Maliki and the State of Law coalition and Abadi appears to doubt their true allegiance to Iraq thinking more rightly so their allegiance would be with Maliki and the level of trust in their true ability to guard any part of Iraq would be in serious doubt...
....
Again supposedly the differences between the National Alliance coalition and the Union of Forces has blocked a vote on the law......watch and see how this plays out from a better source is what I say on the matter.

Issuing instructions for the amount regardless trillion dinars to stimulate the economy

So the CBI administrative board has issued instructions regarding one trillion dinars that are to be distributed to the Iraqi banks for small and medium business loans.....this is part of PM Abadi's reform efforts and is meant to stimulate the Iraqi economy by boosting the ability of these businesses to restart some of their work and hire unemployed Iraqis at the same time....

Meanwhile the instructions that would accompany 5 trillion dinars for support of the industrial, commercial, and agricultural banks has yet to be completely figured out and as a result the money has not been loaned at this time....apparently this larger amount will require some study as to how the funds will be distributed.

The issuance of more than a thousand {500} smart card for displaced people

I wish I had a dollar for each one of these cards they said they had delivered...just saying.....now delivering over 525,000 cards from the Rafadain and Rasheed Banks....these cards are supposedly loaded from the 2015 budget....hmmm....a budget that is almost as hard to get money out of as it is to get blood from a turnip.....good luck on that face.....these cards were divvied out to respective provinces that are believed to be housing significant numbers of displaced Iraqi citizens.

Parliamentary power: the price of a barrel of oil in the budget of 2016 will be from $ 40-45

The future price of a barrel of oil.....certainly a moving target as we speak.....the Iraqis appear to be aiming somewhere between $40-45 per barrel for the 2016 budget at this point in time....this kind of pricing will mean serious problems when it comes to financing salaries of state employees across Iraq in 2016....PM Abadi and his Oil Minister are being asked to send a committee to OPEC to work out a deal that will stabilize prices so the 2016 budget can be finalized.....I'm not sure that even OPEC can make that happen at this point in time.....again it is stressed that the government is in desperate need to come up with revenues from other than oil sources.

Conference with the participation of Iraq .. Arab Economic Council confirms merchandise trade liberalization between Arab countries

The Iraqi Ministry of Commerce met in Cairo with other Arab nations to discuss the liberalization of trade between the nations....all economic subjects that at this time are of particular interest to Iraq as they work to get their tax and tariff issues worked out in a manner that will be seen as a working entity from one end of the country to another.

Formation of a committee of leading operations and the protection of the Green Zone to open the streets

Today it would appear to be a day of committee formations and work.....yet another committee formed or being insisted upon by a state of law coalition member to work on operations associated with streets of the Green Zone....claiming that such opening would free up existing bottlenecks in the area.....I for one am suspect of any demand or insistence from anyone within the State of Law coalition.....can't help but wonder if ulterior motives are at play with their allegiance to Maliki well known.

The monetary authority is working to keep the trading volume

Iraqi monetary authority is defining work that promotes monetary measures regardless of whether goals are associated with monetary or non-monetary issues are essential to the improvement of Iraq's economic situation....human resources, meaning employment of Iraqis remains a key driving point along with the trade volume....they must do all they can to stabilize pricing so that economic values are maintained....high level economics at work here for sure.....but Iraq needs great focus on the basics I would think at this point.

Chest: the continuation of the demonstrations means that there is real hope of reforms and the government protect the rebels

One of Iraq's religious clerics spoke out today saying that by continuing the demonstrations that have been ongoing for a number of weeks, they see a sliver of hope for the work of PM Abadi's reforms as being successful....he made a call at the same time for the government to insure the safety of those peacefully demonstrating against the "revolutionary" efforts of fugitives who try and bring violence into the mix....they are not to be tolerated.

Iraq poised to meet investors ahead of crucial bond sale - IFR

Iraq is seeking to release the sale of bonds sometimes after Labor Day weekend....this coming weekend here in the US.....these will be Eurobonds they claim....the sales will be handled/managed by Citibank, JP Morgan Chase Bank, and Deutsche Bank...what they are seeking is a sales of $6 billion dollars from this effort....

Some sources claim that this first effort may be something less than that amount.....again I'll caution everyone......these bonds are not for us, but for high roller countries and companies who have the capital to deal in large blocks of these bonds at one time....still I would expect them to be sold out in minutes if not hours.

The issuance of an arrest warrant cousin Nuri al-Maliki in the provincial council in Karbala

May this be the first bell toll for those of Maliki's clan to be brought in front of justice for their corrupt deeds that have long gone unpunished....this time it is a cousin in the province of Karbala for the abuse of funds.....corruption in other words.
Parliamentary Economy: There is no fear on the Iraqi currency and the balance in 2016 is still the financial

According to the Economic Committee the Iraqi currency remains strong at this point and that includes any prep work for the 2016 budget as well.....part of the strength associated with the currency at this time is that manipulators will not be tolerated and they are being watched for very closely....good news for the IQD at this point in time.

Disclosure of bank accounts for "Daash" in Baghdad, the names of traders Kurds

It is believed by some that DAASH may be passing millions through Baghdad banks daily......this is being done allegedly through accounts held by "Kurdish traders".....while this may be, I find it hard to believe that the Integrity Commission is not all over this kind of activity and would be shutting such operations down as soon as they are discovered.....if the Kurds are involved they would be making big news as such.....there has to be more to this story.....or maybe there is no story at all, fabrication as we've seen happen in the media in the past.

Criminal Court issued a ruling detained, "al-Maliki" on charges of abusing his position

More info on the cousin of Maliki's that is being charged with abuse of money associated with the position that he held in Karbala......there has been a warrant issued for his arrest at this time....wonder what Maliki will have to say....oh that is a black camel of the family.....like uncle like cousin is more like it....maybe they can share a cell on the family plan.

Well this is the end of things thus far today.....I'll be back around later to see what else has popped up.   Aloha    Randy
