Awake-in-3D: May 7, 2015 at 1:22pm A quick study of Romania's "drop the zeros" redenomination a few years ago (I was there in RO when they did this) will shed light on what Iraq is doing with their currency.
Romania had two sets of note denominations circulating in parallel for a period of time before decommissioning the high zero notes.
Although RO did not RV their currency as Iraq will do, the co-mingling of the two sets of low and high zero notes tells the tale of what Iraq is likely doing with their notes today.
This should settle the debates regarding the new 50,000 IQD note versus a 50 IQD note (and also the reported 250,000 (or 200,000?) IQD note... happy trails folks. There's a method to this perceived madness. :)
