....
Iraq's oil export levels are down slightly from March currently averaging 2.92 million barrels per day down from 2.98 million per day in March....they are still below budgeted levels of 3.1 million per day...but some of the disruption comes from weather related issues in the south that hamper oil exports at the gulf based dock pods just off shore from Basra.
National Business Council propose to the government of Iraq's accession to the Asian Bank for Investment
The Iraqi National Business Council leader has made a suggestion to the COM that Iraq join up with the Asian Investment Bank....recommending this move as a means of pushing further development with countries such as Great Britain, Germany, France and other Arab nations....this bank was created in 2014 largely on the shoulders of China in order to create competition with the IMF and the World Bank...question is.....by doing this kind of move....will they be cutting off sources they normally had available to them for many years.

The Oil Minister spoke about how Iraq has been hampered since the 60's with unfair laws that have done nothing but hurt their economy....sure oil has supported their economy during this time frame but the Iraqi laws have impacted badly upon other industry sectors that have in turn hampered further growth of Iraq except with regard to oil production...even that has been hindered in time as well....but today they work to remedy this problem with new laws and amendments.
Call parliamentary salaries to convert to smart card
There is a call before Parliament to push more towards the use of the smart card for making salary payments within Parliament....however the article also indicates that it is believed some corrupt officials still hold office and may continue to allow "ghost" employees to be paid....IMO....with the resurgence of the efforts by the Integrity Commission and their special interests in said "ghost" employees I find this hard to believe that anyone would be so bold as to continue this attempt at corruption at a large risk of being caught.

Zebari held a number of meetings with investment and economic institutions in Washington
The trip to Washington last week wasn't all about sight-seeing it would seem....Finance Minister Zebari met with a number of institutions while in Washington to discuss possibilities of investment and economic potentials with and for Iraq....one thing he was pursuing was the potential for a loan to secure 10 Boeing jets....most notably with the US Import and Export Bank.....as well as other key projects associated with the private sector of Iraqi industry.
Kurdistan decided to hold a meeting with representatives of the Federal House of Representatives and the government about the "disputed"
The KRG held a meeting with all interested parties and the Kurd Parliament to discuss disputed areas between Erbil and Baghdad and try to decide on their move going forward with any dealings associated with these areas....this is all in association with Article 140 and any disputes contained within that issue......the Kurds basically agreed to further study of identified areas, with special focus on areas where agricultural issues are believed to need a great deal of attention.
It's time for new coffee...and cake.....grab a piece while there is still some left....enjoy this great day Family....thanks again for all the birthday wishes. Aloha Randy
