R&R says to subgirl():The reform process has just gone to a whole new level it seems!
subgirl says to R&R():GM :) I agree with that!
R&R says to subgirl():Trying to figure out what the next chess move is here.....
R&R says():Sounds like BGG may have called it yesterday about the possibility of early elections. Jubouri suspended Parliament, now he's talking to Masum about it, and Sadr is talking about it being the only way to achieve reform, and there's an article about Jubouri asking about his "signature" on the Honor Document.
larrykn says to R&R():it is looking that way :)
R&R says():The Honor Document, if I recall, was a "pledge" to work diligient, and in all respects, in the best interest of the people of Iraq. Seems like he wants assurance he is "honorable" despite Parliaments complete dysfunction
subgirl says to R&R():good thots and thanks for sharing!! :)
R&R says():Also, Parliament is suspended, but not dismissed. If dismissed, there must be a procedure to replace them. Both Parliament Procedure (Article 31, section 2) and the Constitution (Article 49, section 5) state that Parliament shall: "Enacting the law that deal with replacing its Members in case of resignation, dismissing, death, or loss of membership for any reason." But I do not know the law that was enacted to deal with ALL being dismissed??
larrykn says to R&R():dismissed might be the next step , I think that is the only way to clean up this mess , get rid of them all an put in those that aren't corrupt
larrykn says to R&R():but to be honest , I think this is all secondary, keep your eye on the cbi and IMF this is still moving forward :)
subgirl says to larrykn():yes and I am looking for the first half of 2016!! :)
R&R says to larrykn():I think so too. And with subby's article above, it appears Abadi is calling ministers to come back in to resume their positions until further notice. Interestingly, I would assume he doesn't have to call everyone back in. I would imagine he has the power to place proxies.... but not sure
clay says to R&R():hey bud
R&R says to larrykn():And yes, I agree 100%. Eyes on the CBI. That's all that matters (y)

pizzaman says to subgirl():GM All...good news to help clarify what's going on. Subby, is there any concensus on whether the existing ministers that Abadi is calling back in are corrupt or not corrupt? If corrupt, would this not be a step backwards toward reform?
