BAGHDAD - 2-4 (KUNA) - The Iraqi government said Saturday that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi called on the Iraqi Integrity Commission to take legal action regarding what appeared in the foreign media recently reported suspicions of corruption related to oil contracts.
The Iraqi government said in a statement that al-Abadi called on the judicial authorities to carry out prosecutions concerning immediate investigative journalism "serious" about the involvement of senior Iraqi officials in the state in corrupt deals and kickbacks related to oil contracts during the previous Iraqi governments.
The statement did not reveal the names of officials suspected of corruption suspicions, but the two Abarien two foreigners who had published a survey investigation for suspicions of corruption related to senior officials in the Iraqi Oil Ministry, including former and its minister Hussain al-Shahristani.
However, al-Shahristani, who is currently the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Iraqi government has called on Friday to open an investigation into suspicions of corruption and prosecution of the signatories in the event of proven non-validity of the information contained therein.

The Supreme Council decided today to its position on the new cabinet line-up
Saturday 02-04-2016 | 12:00:47Twilight News / due to the Islamic Supreme Council declared Saturday his stance on the new cabinet line-up presented by the current Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to the House of Representatives first on Thursday.
According to sources in the Council that the President of the Supreme Council Ammar al-Hakim will hold a news conference this afternoon with the leaders of the Council deals with where his al-Abadi in the cabinet reshuffle.
According to sources, the conference will be held at four o'clock this afternoon at the headquarters of the Supreme Council in the Jadiriyah district of Baghdad.

No doubt Al-Shahristani probably took millions in pay money, either you play or disappear, Shabibi was worried enough that he was never returning for fear of disappearing........
BUT if you recall, it was Al-Shahristani who split the parties making it impossible for Maliki to get the majority in his bid for PM.......... And as posted in the past.......
The Basra crude was being piped to Iran and blended with Iranian crude and then sold on the market which fed Iran billions in revenue thus bypassing sanctions...... 17 million to Al-Shahristani or 5 million to Jabouri is petty cash and moot point.....it was the cost of doing business in the cesspool and keeping life........Forget the millions paid off, every Iraq official got some of that........
it is the billions that funneled directly to Maliki and Iran....... AND as proof........recall in the past that Maliki was overseeing the oil licenses and threatening companies
