Highhopes: I was watching the new Star Wars Movie with my kids and it struck me how similiar it is to our situation....Many people praying for the Republic and light to save us from the dark side or cabal.....just thinkin out loud...If there really is such a thing as the Republic returning and our Country becoming great again......I sure wish we would see some evidence of it.....if not...well then it still was a good story.

The Reason I say there will not be any asset backed currency is because there are not any changes in the currency to indicate the currencies are backed,,,there would be Congressional reports, media debates, and dates of the change because this would effect not only governments but also retailers resulting in a change in values,,,plus, the commodities would be going sky high because of demand and they are barely moving,,,
Once the RV occurs,,the demand for gold will drop again causing prices to drop,,

Yada: no,,there is no reset of a fiat system rock,,the banks are not changing business,,, even with the Basel III, as some have confused as the catalyst for the asset back is nothing more than the banks requirements to have a reserve of assets, to the tune of around 10%, so if their values drop, they will not effect the rest of the worlds economies
The RV is just that, a revalue of the Iraqi currency which effects the values of all the other currencies,,,eventually to be traded on the forex

I am not studied on it enough to comment on the priceples you are talking on.... but I do know that when I spoke with one of my friends in wf--- he explained BASEL III exactly as you did

Direct: The Central Bank of Iraq said on Sunday that the Government of Iraq will pay the arrears of contractors bonds instead of cash as it seeks to resolve the problem of delayed payment of dues and by declining oil revenues, according to Reuters
Central said in a statement, according to "Reuters", that the bonds can be traded in the local market or sold at a discount in the bank, the bank did not give further details about the order bonds or interest rate.
He said the central, according to "Reuters", that the bonds can also be used as collateral for loans in nominal terms, the bank did not specify the date of the issuance of bonds.
He said the Central, the financial crisis cell headed by Prime Minister approved the proposal of the central bank to issue government bonds for the payment of contractors and suppliers in the framework of solving the problem of payments due efforts, according to Reuters.
