In a meeting with the parliamentary committee for defence and security affairs on Sunday, Abadi and Iraqi MPs discussed the security and financial crisis in the country as well as the liberation of Mosul from the Islamic State (IS).
 
Regarding the Peshmerga, Abadi openly said that the Iraqi federal government will not be sending Peshmerga's budget, and Kurds will not receive any high position in the Iraqi army again, said Kurdish MP Shakhawan Abdullah, who attended the meeting with the PM.
 
Additionally, according to the Iraqi constitution, Kurds take 17% share of the military positions in the Iraqi army; but Kurdish officials claim they have been granted with less than 2% which are not key positions neither.
