Donnie: Oil falls after rallying the support of the hopes of cooperation between Russia and OPEC
 ~~~
Donnie: {International: Euphrates News} Oil prices fell in futures about one percent in Asian trading on Thursday, to dissipate gains of nearly three percent in the previous session after Russia pointed to the possibility of cooperation with the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries {OPEC} to curb the glut of global supply.
Donnie: Why a Russian-Saudi Deal on Oil Output Cut Remains Elusive
Donnie: (Bloomberg) -- With oil trading near $30 a barrel, calls for orchestrated output cuts to quell global oversupply have intensified this week. Trouble is, none of the world’s largest producers, most notably Russia and Saudi Arabia, have shown they’re ready to make a move.
OPEC Secretary-General Abdalla El-Badri called on all countries, both inside and outside the group, to join efforts to revive oil prices. "It should be viewed as something OPEC and non-OPEC tackle together," he said on Monday. Iraq’s oil minister said on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia and Russia, the world’s two largest exporters, might be ready to become “more flexible.”  Donnie: http://ift.tt/1RRiC1T...
Donnie: 'The big boys don't know' where crude is headed next
Donnie: Crude rallied on Wednesday, despite the fact that inventories increased 8.4 million barrels to nearly 495 million barrels, a record high. The price of a barrel of West Texas Intermediate crude (CLH16.NYM) settled at $32.30 per barrel, or about 21% higher than last week’s lows.
According to Ira Epstein, managing director at Linn & Associates, the disconnect has to do with some trying to play a risky game in the oil markets. “You're getting to a point where people are trying to pick bottoms,” he said. “When people start picking bottoms like this just because you're at a number, be careful.”
 Epstein likened the rapid decline in oil to the rapid rise in another major commodity. Donnie: White House Pleads For Iran’s Help with Americans Kidnapped in Iraq
Donnie: There are still three American citizens missing in Iraq, and the most likely culprits are Iran-backed Shiite militia. They were snatched from a private residence in Baghdad by gunmen on January 16, and there has been little progress in finding them, beyond Iraqi intelligence guessing they ended up in the Shiite precincts of Sadr City, where numerous other kidnap victims have resurfaced.
The Administration adamantly refuses to link Iran to the crime, and is now pleading for their help with recovering the missing Americans. The Wall Street Journal describes the crisis as a “fresh test of the Obama Administration’s relationship with Iran.” Donnie: read more here: http://ift.tt/1HerUxu...
Donnie: A former imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca has said that the Islamic State (IS) group follows the same brand of Islam as officially espoused by Saudi Arabia.
Footage translated by British think tank Integrity UK on Wednesday showed leading cleric Sheikh Adel al-Kalbani speaking to the Dubai-based channel MBC about what he believes are the roots of IS. “We follow the same thought [as IS] but apply it in a refined way,” he said.
“They draw their ideas from what is written in our own books, from our own principles.” The cleric said that “we do not criticise the thought on which it (IS) is based". Kalbani repeated the oft spread conspiracy that unnamed intelligence agencies had played a role in the rise of IS.
 He said intelligence agencies had “exploited” those who followed the ultra-conservative Salafist brand of Sunni Islam. “Intelligence agencies and other countries might have [helped] Daesh to develop, providing them with weapons and ammunitions, and directing them,” he said, using an Arabic acronym for IS.
