Wealthwatch OOTW Late Evening  Chat 11-5-15  Part 2 of 3

OOTW: IRAN DEFINITELY HOLDS SWAY OVER IRAQ'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, MANY GOI MEMBERS HAVING CONNECTION TO IRAN

OOTW: THIS ARTICLE IS VERY INTERESTING

OOTW: SO FAR, THEY WANTED TO AGAIN INSTATE THE TARIFFS BY THE END OF THE YEAR

OOTW: I JUST FIND THIS TIMING OF MOHSEN'S PRESS RELEASE HERE VERY INTERESTING

Abraham: i don't understand why they are blind to the grip Iran has on them. It is right out in front for any intelligent person to see. Makes you wonder if money is passing to keep Iraq down

OOTW: I HAVE TO ONCE AGAIN STATE WHAT MR SCHANZER SAID YESTERDAY VIA HIS INTERVIEW WITH FOX NEWS

OOTW: THAT IRAN HAS A HOLD ON THE IRAQI ECONOMY
 ~~~
BOBBY: Abraham...... evening...... maybe there is another side to the Iran /Iraq relationship
Abraham: ‹@OOTW› Sure!
OOTW: THIS WEEK, IRAN HAD AN UPGRADE TO THEIR SOVEREIGN CREDIT RATING
OOTW: STILL NOT FANTASTIC, BUT SOMETHING
OOTW: THEY'RE NOW AT A B+
OOTW: WHILE IRAQ WAS AGAIN DOWNGRADED
OOTW: THE VALUE OF THE RIAL OVER A WEEK AGO, CITED AT XE.COM WAS ABOUT 49K TO 1 USD
OOTW: IT'S NOW AGAIN BACK IN THE 29K RANGE
OOTW: CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER
Abraham: Saddam did not allow Iran to control Iraq. Reason they were wars
OOTW: WELL HE WAS SUNNI
OOTW: I DO VERY MUCH HAVE HOPE THAT ABADI WILL BE ABLE TO ENACT REFORMS, ESP AFTER HOLDING DISCUSSIONS WITH THE SUNNI REPS
OOTW: I FEEL VERY MUCH FOR HIS POSITION
OOTW: HE'S DOING THE RIGHT THING SO FAR
OOTW: I HOPE THE RECENT REPORTS OF THE DAWA NOW SUPPOSEDLY SUPPORTING THE REFORMS ARE TRUE
Abraham: They have to get Malaki out of there
OOTW: YES, THE LONGER HE STAYS, THE MORE TRUE THAT STATEMENT SEEMS ABRAHAM
OOTW: THE THREE PRESIDENCIES LAW IS SUPPOSED TO BE UP FOR A VOTE WHEN PARLIAMENT RESUMES
MichelleL: what did I miss from Buti?
OOTW: BOBBY IT WILL INDEED BE INTERESTING TO MONITOR WHAT IF ANYTHING IS GOING ON WITH THE PETRODOLLAR IN THE ME ESPECIALLY (NOT TO MENTION CHINA)
OOTW: GOOD, HOLDING A CHAT AND ATTENDING TO GRANDDAUGHTER'S BOTTOMLESS PITS
MichelleL: ‹@OOTW› I'm confused, will have to go back over that, but it sounds like moving in the wrong direction?
OOTW: INDEED IT DOES MICHELLE, BUT HOW CAN IT WHEN THE GOI WANTS TO IMPLEMENT THE TARIFFS
OOTW: AND THE IRAQI'S HAVE NO BUYING POWER?
OOTW: AND IRAQ IS CURRENTLY AN IMPORTER NATION, REQUIRING MORE BUYING POWER FOR THE PEOPLE
MichelleL: like I said, very confusing to my feeble brain, OOTW ;)
OOTW: CERTAINLY IRAQ IS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR BEING A PRIMARILY EXPORTER NATION
OOTW: TYPICALLY , AS I EXPLAINED ABOVE, EXPORTER NATIONS BENEFIT FROM KEEPING THE VALUE OF THEIR CURRENCY LOWER
OOTW: IRAQ IS NOT YET AN EXPORTER NATION, EXCEPT FOR THEIR GRAIN TRADE
MichelleL: ‹@OOTW› I'm confused, will have to go back over that, but it sounds like moving in the wrong direction?
MichelleL: hey Bobby! How's the knee? have you seen the doc yet?
OOTW: INDEED IT DOES MICHELLE, BUT HOW CAN IT WHEN THE GOI WANTS TO IMPLEMENT THE TARIFFS
OOTW: AND THE IRAQI'S HAVE NO BUYING POWER?
OOTW: AND IRAQ IS CURRENTLY AN IMPORTER NATION, REQUIRING MORE BUYING POWER FOR THE PEOPLE
BOBBY: Michelle. .... going tomorrow. ... thanks for asking
MichelleL: like I said, very confusing to my feeble brain, OOTW ;)
OOTW: CERTAINLY IRAQ IS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR BEING A PRIMARILY EXPORTER NATION
MichelleL: glad you're getting it taken care of Bobby, hope they can "fix you" quickly - this must be getting pretty old pretty fast
OOTW: TYPICALLY , AS I EXPLAINED ABOVE, EXPORTER NATIONS BENEFIT FROM KEEPING THE VALUE OF THEIR CURRENCY LOWER
OOTW: IRAQ IS NOT YET AN EXPORTER NATION, EXCEPT FOR THEIR GRAIN TRADE
OOTW: NOW THERE WAS AN ANNOUNCEMENT AT THE CABINET SITE TODAY STATING THAT THE GOI WAS GOING TO ENACT THIS....BRB
Butifldrm: Hi everyone
OOTW: Send this Thread to a Friend Accession of the Republic of Iraq to the grain trade agreement of 1995 05/11/2015 12:25 Council of Ministers decided to approve the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the grain trade agreement of 1995, which entered into force on 01.07.1995, according to the provisions of Article (80 / item VI) of the Constitution.
The Council resolution 392 for the year 2015 based on what introduced by the Department of Foreign Economic Relations in the Ministry of Commerce.
OOTW: OTHER THAN THIS, IRAQ IS NOT AN EXPORTER NATION
OOTW: HIYA BUTI - WHEW THANK GOD YOU'RE HERE
OOTW: LOL
MichelleL: and thats old
Butifldrm: Sorry I'm out to Dinner and have had little time to analyze the article
OOTW: AWWW SORRY I DON'T WANT YOUR DINNER INTERRUPTED
OOTW: HARD TO CHAT ON A MOBILE DEVICE
OOTW: I DIDN'T REALIZE   OOTW: SORRY
Butifldrm: But it appears just like from previous articles that just like some economists suggested that Iraq could devalue the currency to meet the budget
Abraham: Iraq has to be non dependent on oil. They need to develop a manufacturing industry, argiculture and service sector. Have a niche become the Puerto Rico of the Middke East by specializing in phatmacutical products
Butifldrm: That is rediculous
 Abraham: that's your opinion
Butifldrm: It makes me wonder the intelligence of the people supposedly running the show
Abraham: They can't depend on oil forever
Butifldrm: The only way that devaluing the currency could help Iraq is if they were an exporter nation
Butifldrm: That is not the case
OOTW: THIS ALSO COMES ON THE HEELS OF A MEETING WHICH THE MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES ATTENDED WITH THE DIVISION OF THE UN TO REVIEW TRADE POLICIES
Butifldrm: I raw is suffering from a sovereign debt crisis They have not followed the guidelines the IMF has been preaching for years
Abraham: I think we missed something. I did not say they should devalue
Abraham: As an importer they can't
Butifldrm: They needed to diversify the economy and I believe this is the main point Mohsen is stating at the end of the article   Butifldrm: Structural reforms
Butifldrm: Seriously it's not just Iraq
Butifldrm: Saudi will run out of reserves within 5 years
Abraham: ‹@Butifldrm› true
