mriles - Wells Fargo bank story 1:50 PST My wife went to local WF in Nth CA Bay Area and ask the teller who happen to be one of the managers the current rate for the Vietnamese Dong.
He checked the screen and said that strange it is not listed. Let me call another branch maybe we are not an exchange center. He called two other branches and they both said they are not selling it.
My wife said that is strange the we have purchased dong from one of the branches you just called. His response "really that is strange".
My wife then went to a Chase Bank where we have also purchased dong and they are still selling it ~ $47 per mil. She then called another major WF branch that is about 15 miles away and the person she spoke with told her all WF banks have stopped selling dong because it is a scam.
Very interesting. I take this as a positive sign.

No they don't and they will not when you exchange the IQD either.
Q: [When the IQD gets value all banks with foriegn currency will exchange it. Right?]
wmawhite : Not necessarily so...and here is why...go to St. Maarten and those banks accept the USD, Canadian Dollar the Euro and GBP...and why? Because there is a market (tourists).
They don't exchange the Yen because no visitors from Japan...no market. ...banks choose what currency they want to exchange just like any other product.
Q: [We just might have to travel some distance.]
