Wealthwatch Friday Morning Chat 11-6-15  Part 1 of 2

chattels: Reidar Visser ‏@reidarvisser 7m7 minutes ago In Friday prayers, #Iraq's Shia clergy attacks parliament for its "procrastination" on reform policies of PM Abadi http://ift.tt/1LEwWYk... …

http://ift.tt/1NVepG0

chattels: said the religious authority, "should not take unnecessary care of the constitutional and legal path way by the legislature or other to circumvent the reform steps" http://ift.tt/1LEwWYk...

http://ift.tt/1WE4Pia

chattels: It is not as though the Iraqi Constitution is a " great work " or even clear / workable

chattels: Many politicians " trot out " the constitution of Iraq when it suits their purposes and " trash it " the next time
 ~~~
chattels: Combine the lack of tradition in government in Iraq with a politically influenced Judiciary and you have arguably a political, economic and social nightmare
BOBBY: Chattels. ...... question for you if you can....
chattels: Watching the Iraqi Parliament work is like " watching paint dry "
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› Yes sir
BOBBY: for lack of better terminology. ... who does the buck stop with over there?
chattels: Regret to contradict the pundits who describe Iraq's progress as " meteoric " :)
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› Parliament, IMO
BOBBY: what about the religious sector........ BOBBY: the high clerics and such
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› spend some time " googling " parliamentary forms of government for a better understanding of the Iraqi system of government
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› no " legal " authority, but great public influence
BOBBY: thanks.....
chattels: Parliament can withdraw confidence from the Prime Minister and change administrations / governments so the executive branch is much weaker in Iraq
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› Perhaps you have heard me to say that Abadi can do little unilaterally and without Parliament
BOBBY: Chattels..... yes...... whats your opinion on his position ?
BOBBY: Chattels. ... you have stated that from the beginning as I recall
chattels: Until recently one might describe progress in Iraq as one step forward and two steps back. Today it may admit of two steps forward and one step back.
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› Admirably resolute.
chattels: But perseverance and resolve does not mean success always.
BOBBY: do you feel his party affiliation is a drawback
chattels: If Chalabi was murdered then ..................., well, it will bespeak a terrible dynamic at work.
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› Not per se.
BOBBY: Chattels. .... if he was........ can anyone really be surprised with the history?
chattels: And to abandon his party label may undermine his support in significant parts of his political base.
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› Surprise or disappointment / concern. Were Chalabi more popular it could galvanize the reform effort. We shall see.
Doug_W: fingers crossed
BOBBY: Chattels. ...... thanks for thoughts.... appreciate it!
chattels: Chalabi was a target of assassination before.
chattels: Several of them have been though.
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› my pleasure - wish that I " knew " more.
Doug_W: wish U knew the rate N date "C"  lol
BOBBY: seems like a concerted effort against progress in a way
chattels: ‹@Doug_W› indeed, but then someone would have to kill me :)
Doug_W: hmmm hopefully this is a little better than Iraq and that won't happen
chattels: ‹@BOBBY› certain forces depend upon stagnation for their power and control
Doug_W: and a strong arm approach as well "C"
BOBBY: Chattels. .... agreed....... a
BOBBY: DougW..... good point.... the intimidation factor
chattels: Progress / change can be scary and dangerous to many
BOBBY: even when its for the betterment
chattels: it is an age old conflict between light and darkness - there is nothing new or different under the sun in Iraq
chattels: agents for change are often martyred
chattels: crude oil prices rose on Friday, after it fell more than two percent in the previous session. The total US crude futures to $ 45.53 a barrel, up 33 cents from its level at the settlement, while Brent crude rose 27 cents to $ 48.25 a barrel.
However, these gains came after sharp declines in the previous session on rising US crude inventories. Some analysts said that the oversupply will continue to put pressure on the oil markets. The BMI Research Foundation's [Fitch Ratings] "with high production of major oil producers
The decline in US shale crude production will not be enough to balance the bloated about supply oil market during the next two years.  chattels: http://ift.tt/1LEwWYk...
chattels: I am now posting most of my military news in the forum as it not preferred reading and seems to conflict with the narrative of many in the chat and elsewhere.
chattels: My views and opinions have not changed, but ....................... those that want to read such can go to the forum.
