Iraq News Recap by Aggiedad77 at KTFA

aggiedad77 » January 23rd, 2014,

The news of the morning January 23, 2014

Now for the morning Iraq news recap:

Central Bank decides "SEC gold bullion" to sell investors and segments of society

Talk about a change.....the CBI is looking to diversify and begin sales of a variety of gold bullion to investors, dealers, and segments of Iraqi society. The IMF reported in 2013 that assets associated with the Development Fund of Iraq rose by 18 billion dollars while hard currency reserves rose by 70 billion dollars.

2014 budget .. More importantly, the heart of the equation (2)

When compared to the first four years of the Marshall Plan, the 2014 budget of Iraq almost surpasses the Marshall Plan budget years of 1947-1951 combined.

....

Read More Link on Right

Parliament: General Budget Law will be included in the agenda for the meeting next Tuesday

The Parliament will include the 2014 budget in their business of the day next Tuesday when they reconvene....that will bring great discussion, but at the same time there will be other laws that will also be voted upon and likely passed.

Finance Committee confirms that the inclusion of five dollars in the budget and promised Maliki "just talk"

Now a member of the Finance Committee is claiming that Maliki's words.....are just talk....concerning the petrodollar issue. Then I say to the Parliament, call his bluff and write the correct amount into the budget and see what happens. Parliament also claims that the disbursement of the petrodollars is linked to the province's capacity of spending.

CBI News and announcements

Family this announcement came from the Arabic side of the CBI.....again proof that they keep that side more up to date than the English side which has not seen this announcement.....again the Arabic side is the official CBI website. They continue to build a variety of reserves....why.....I think if you dig hard enough in looking at other Central Banks around the world, you will see that they have great diversification within their reserves......could be the Iraqi's are working on the same premise.

Maliki: we are close to an agreement with Kurdistan Region

Well normally I would say we have heard this song and dance routine in the past...their definition of close encompasses a century it would seem under normal circumstances....but I believe this time "they really are close"......keep watching what they do.

Iraq paid more than a billion dollars as part of the compensation of the former regime's invasion of Kuwait

This is the amount due to KW for a quarterly payment to compensate businesses and individuals affected by the 1991 invasion of KW.....there appear to remain $8.8 billion in payments.....these payments come from taking 5% of oil exports of Iraq.

Cabinet explains decision to transfer to Iraq (23) province

The COM have vocalized their decision to go forward with the creation of the new provinces....stating that they felt it wise due largely to current population densities of these areas.....they also felt that this move would aid each of the new provinces in development of social and economic issues......OK this is just an idle observation on my part....the number of new provinces seems to be a moving target, initially it was three, then it was four.....now they are saying they have moved from 18 to 23 provinces....so I count FIVE.....unless they have a version of math that I am not familiar with.

Kurdish lawmaker: we will vote on the new provinces after the application of Article 140

The Kurds....those masterminds and dubious winners of the Monkey Wrench award of the Month....they now threaten Parliament and the COM that they will not vote on the new provinces until Article 140 is taken care of it seems.....but do they forget their vote or lack there of will not amount to a hill of beans....Parliament could pass the vote on the new provinces without the Kurds present....smh

GGE is an assessment of the steps to implement the national strategy to combat corruption

It seems that Iraq has been working with the UN for the past 5 years working on combatting corruption in the country....that 5 year period is ending this coming April. They are already focusing on the next 5 years and working towards training and education in areas of fighting corruption.

Finance Committee: budget did not include dues companies operating in Kurdistan

Well now a member of the Parliament Finance Committee is stating that there is no inclusion of funds in the Kurdistan budget for 2014 to pay companies operating in Kurdistan.....I highly suspect those companies are the ones who have accepted oil bids from the Kurds but have not gotten "official" approval from Baghdad for their operations.

Minister of Justice in the region: the right of the Kurdistan Region to defend the independence of financial

This seesaw battle continues to be waged by the Kurds.....sure they seem to have their act together better than Baghdad and most other provinces at this time....but that doesn't make them always right.....bottom line to things IMO.....they still need to play by national rules.....get the companies that are doing business in the region on board with the federal government and all will be worked out....stop trying to bend the rules to fit your own needs and desires.

Karbala: reducing the budget of the province for the year 2014 because of the region's oil export

Karbala is having $43 billion dinars cut from their budget for 2014, relating to their oil exports, or lack there of. This is related to the problematic export of oil from the Kurdistan region.....one domino depends on another. This reduction will of course lead to issues and problems with various province projects being underfunded.

Former Iraq VP: Terrorism, political conflict behind Anbar crisis

The former Iraqi VP who resigned his post in 2011 speaks out stating that the battles in Anbar are driven not only by terrorism but also by political conflict. He is the leader of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council (SIIC)....who I suspect will be running against Maliki for the PM position in the April 30 elections.....there is a very well written interview with this gentleman as part of the article....it is written in good English and well worth the read....I don't think I could do it justice to try and summarize his points of view....I like this man...from what I have read thus far.

Babylon objected to the reduction in the 2014 budget by 15%

Babylon is saying that the delay in approving the budget is having a negative impact on the provinces and has cut their budget by 15% already.....this will also have a resulting negative impact on 2014 projects within the province......sounds like a real impetus to get the budget passed ASAP.

A parliamentary source: Parliament will hold its next Tuesday to discuss the budget and the vote on the pension law

Hear ye....Hear ye....Parliament will be back in session next Tuesday, January 28 to hear discussion on the budget and vote on the Pension Law.....don't forget to bring your favorite MP as a quorum is desperately needed.

Electoral Commission: e-card locked and can not be falsified or manipulated

An e-card that is supposed to guard against fraud or of being manipulated.....one for every citizen...and another type for those in the military....come one....come all and cast your ballot. Now if the US would just follow suit. This should make the upcoming election very interesting.

Deputy Governor of Basra demanding visual demonstrations and sit-ins in the absence of calculation of petro $ 5

I've said this before and I'll say it again.....to what purpose does the Parliament function.....yes there was a "clerical error" in the way the budget came out....well for the love of all things good.....FIX IT...and move on....sure have your demonstrations and sit-ins.....there are some people in the US that can give you first hand instructions on those things.....[/b]

National Investment Commission invites businessmen to invest to get American brands

The world of franchising comes to Iraq.....invest...invest...invest and get quality American brands in your new business.

Holidays in Iraq .. What most!!

Caution....don't let your kids read this article.....Iraq has upwards of 150 days a year dedicated to holidays.....150 days....that is so incredible....it digs into the school year putting students behind because of course they can't get all their required work accomplished.

The arrival of a new batch of Russian arms to the port of Umm Qasr

Heavy arms as well as medium weapons were received at Umm Qasr yesterday, a port in Basra.....I hope they are marked washing machine parts or Edsel parts.....to deter thieves from taking them in route to the military.

Health Kurdistan Baghdad demanding the payment of debt amounting to more than Qmath trillion dinars

The Kurds are saying they have not received payments from Baghdad that would take care of health and medicine needs to the tune of at least 1 trillion dinars.....this is an accumulated amount for the region since 2004.

Deputies: moderation references abort the Sunni Al-Qaeda calls to launch a sectarian war

The al Qaeda rebels are calling on Sunni's to rise up against Baghdad and revolt against the government.....many Sunni's are showing reluctance though...hoping that Baghdad will help in resolving Anbar issues and push the rebels back out of the country.....there is call for civil war.....but the people of Iraq know all too well what war feels like and are not quick to jump towards such action....this goes in Iraq's favor at this point in time.

Council of Dhi Qar, unaware of the fate of 200 billion dinars disbursed within the budget of the province in 2013

How many ways can you spell document....document....document....seems they need a better bookkeeper.....or perhaps greater transparency.

Thoughts from Econ Warrior Emailed to Recaps Wed. PM

A post for Recaps from Econ Warrior

I haven’t posted in a long time because I really believed that this would have been over months ago. Now I feel that I must raise a voice of Reason against what is at best foolish and at worst inciting insurrection.

In my book “Economic Warfare” (Wiley & Sons, 2011), I detailed the process by which our federal government has been systematically co-opted and corrupted by the international banking cabal which has infiltrated nearly every major economy in the world.

I named names and laid out detailed evidence of the illegal activities that led to the 2008 financial crisis. This book is on the required reading list of upper level Economics and American History classes at major universities across the country. I believe that qualifies to comment on what is being put out across Dinarland right now.

I ask you to stop and consider a few FACTS.

....

Read More Link on Right

First of all, with all of the evidence of financial crimes and manipulation that led up to the sub-prime mortgage collapse, not one banking individual has even been indicted.

Not one politician has called for an independent investigation of the SEC or other banking regulators, an audit of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, or the investigation in to conflict of interests between Wall Street bankers and federal government officials all the way up to the Cabinet level.

Why do you suppose this is?

Simple. Washington D.C. has been largely bought and paid for by the international bankers.

They own those men and women who we voted into office to represent our interests. Our federal government, from top to bottom, works for what is in the best interests of Wall Street, not us.

Secondly, would it NOT be in the best interests of the international banking cartel to continue the debt slavery of a fiat currency and a populace that is more and more dependent on the federal government in order to keep a roof over their heads and food on their table?

Would it NOT be in the best interests of the international banking cartel to derail any plan that would bring widespread prosperity to the people?

What would derail this plan faster than to have the President perceive civil unrest and declare martial law?

Third, is it really in YOUR best interest to listen to someone who is now urging you to do something that is the exact opposite of what he was telling you to do just a few months ago?

Just stop and think about that for a moment. Who wins if a million people contact government officials who work for the bad guys demanding that these same officials “do something” about this situation? It certainly isn't you!

I don’t have anything to gain by telling you this, but I can assure you that you have not been told the truth about the situation.

Listen to your heart.

Look at the facts.

We are so very close and there is a concerted effort to derail the greatest economic event in human history.

Don’t follow someone who sounds like he is your best friend. You don’t really know him. (Note: Or, anyone on the Internet!)

POOFness for JAN 21: "Fly Like An Eagle"

(Dinar Recaps Note: Song lyrics and video are below.)

Greetings and Salutions:

As the confusion, chaos, and disinformation continue if you haven't visited the link below, I encourage you to do so. Studley is a expert on currency fundamentals and would be willing to answer a few questions on the history of these protocal through our address at 2goforth@safe-mail.net. http://ift.tt/1mkUIr7

Poof said:

Over a decade ago many people placed their faith in a few folks who were sharing a story about an investment that was off the charts. They may not have believed it possible but they took a chance on it. Though many years ago the tattered faith that remains is not much for some and getting very faded for others. But the biggest truth of all is, not one made that decision without checking their insides or getting a feel that those who believed in the "O" program did in fact believe in it and what the hell, it was for real-- or few bucks later-- it wasn't. Over time they recognized that hundreds, thousands of people did buy the same premise. And so they did. Including yours truly. Ferreting out information became a full time excursion for a while and then eventually everything clicked. It did have some basis in fact and it was a planned spiritual revolution and all of those catchy phrases that go with that thinking.

....

Read More Link on Right

But beyond all of that, down deep, many folks got the message it was, some how, for real. How-- they did not know. Why?? They did not know. What? They did not know. When-- we still don't know. But we do. It is very, very close. This newsletter which has been done on a weekly basis was thought to be ending years ago. So much that had been predicted had happened by last year, and shared, that it would seem it had to just happen--starting in 2008. Pay attention to what was said over ten years ago and look around. What has come to pass was not that unexpected. You knew it was coming. So giving up, releasing your faith that you still have is not a good thing for you. Bind up those tatters and lets move forward. This is going to happen and again, like the old story of the children of Israel who wandered for 40 years, no, this will not be a 40 yr trek but theirs was so we were told. The job today is to keep an open mind, to stand back from what you think you know, continue doing life every day, keep the faith such as you have, and get the attitude of gratitude going again. As you have been reminded had it not been for a friend or family member you would not now be a part of this unfolding event. And things are changing quite rapidly as the window of opportunity occurs. And it will in the twinkle of an eye.

HI ALL

THERE ARE 10 DAYS LEFT BEFORE THE CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR, THE YEAR OF THE YANG HORSE.

THE NEW BRETTON WOODS AGREEMENT IS HERE, AND THE BRICS INJECT CAPITAL INTO THE IMF BASKET OF CURRENCIES, AND THE BLACK POPE IS STALLING SIGNING OFF THE RV, BUT REALLY HAS LITTLE CHOICE IF HE WISHES TO LEAD A SEMBLANCE OF A LIFE. NOT BAD FOR THE WEEK GONE.

ALL IT MEANS IS THAT ALL IS IN READY STATE FOR THE RV, THE MATRIX FUNDS RELEASES, AND THE HISTORIC BOND PAYOUTS (WHICH ARE ONGOING NOW AND REALLY HEATING UP THIS WEEK).

THERE IS SO MUCH ACTIVITY THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP WITH ALL OF THE DEVELOPMENTS, BUT ALL IS ON TRACK; AND WE SHALL BE IN PROSPERITY MODE SHORTLY.

THEN THE PROJECT SIDE BEGINS IN EARNEST. I HAVE LONGED FOR THIS TIME.

SO, NOT MUCH TO SAY THIS WEEK, AND I THINK I WILL BE ABLE TO SAY A LOT NEXT WEEK. EXCEPT FOR THIS.

Q: If you are not aware of it, a potential problem has developed this week, which is now being discussed considerably, on the dinar chat sites. The TNT site stated on Thursday that there have been a number of 'senior' wealth managers with the banks who have advised their clients to purchase and exchange their dinar with them. He further stated that these favored exchanges started on Wednesday of this week and will continue until the “contract rate” with China is fulfilled at a much higher double-digit rate, thereby delaying the RV, until this quota is met, and that the public will never see this contract rate.

A: THE PUBLIC WILL SEE ABOUT $3.80 SOMETHING. THE CONTRACT RATE IS TIED TO OIL, AND THE PUBLIC WILL NOT SEE THIS AS IT IS MEANT FOR ANOTHER “THING” THAT IS NECESSARY FOR THE REBALANCE PROCESS.

Q: To add further salt to the wound, I interpret his words to ask dinar holders to start making trouble by getting this out into the open via government representatives and major news sources. Then, there are a number of “guru” types who are trying to quell the storm and trying to prevent this disaster from happening. It is being said that all of the meetings that have been currently going on, are not about getting the RV released, but how to keep a lid on it.

A: MY ADVICE IS TO BE CALM AND LET THE STORM ROLL OVER YOU. KNOW THAT THE RV WILL OCCUR, AND MANY MILLIONAIRES WILL BE MADE. THE OTHER TIERS ARE SPECIFIC TO THEIR PURPOSE ONLY.

Q: Would it be possible for you to say something about this in this week's upcoming newsletter?

Your words carry so much weight and are shared on all of the dinar sites that I have seen, and your saying something about this would go a long way in preventing something stupid from happening. T would like nothing more that for 5 million dinar holders to take to the streets, demanding the release of the RV. Thank you for your time. - MS

A: IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE 5 MILLION ON THE STREETS MAKING NOISES, BUT IT WOULD NOT CHANGE WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. SO, OTHER THAN A MARCH WITH HOT DOGS AND BALLOONS, IT WOULD BE NOTHING MORE THAN THAT AS FAR AS EFFECTIVENESS. ALL IS SET AND IN MOTION, SO NO NEED.

SO THIS WEEK IS SHORT AND SWEET, AND I MUST GO AND ATTEND TO SOME COLORED PIGS.

STAY TUNED AS THERE MAY BE MID-WEEK NEWS THAT WILL SHED LIGHT ON SO MANY THINGS, AND CERTAINLY BEFORE THE NEW YEAR. TALKING ABOUT THAT, THIS IS SIGNIFICANT FOR ALL OF US TO KNOW ABOUT THIS YEAR:

By Karen Abler Carrasco, WSFS Consultant, Mentor and Teacher

There might not be a bigger shift of energies in the entire 60-year wheel of Chinese astrology than this one coming up–the shift from two Water years of deep introspection to the fast-paced spurt of extroverted forward propulsion that the Wood Horse brings. Hold onto your hats, folks, and realize that you won’t be able to, nor will you want to, slow your horses in the New Year ahead!

This will be a Promethean year, the Beginning of all beginnings, arriving around January 31st to February 4th, 2014. Full of uplift, optimism and compelling inspiration, we will be guided into purposeful action of the most elegantly simple and powerfully fruitful kind. After two years of feeling every revelation of corruption in the dark as if it was scouring our subconscious insides and wringing us dry of watery emotion, we are READY for this change! Light, hope and clarity of vision gallop in. Emerge from your cocoons, everybody, here we goooooo!

Because this will be such a big change of energetic experience for us, it will help to review here how the cycle of the sacred Five Elements, or Phases, have set us up for this shift. In that cycle, Wood feeds Fire, Fire’s ash creates Earth, Earth’s compression reveals gems of Metal, and Metal collects and holds Water, which nourishes the Wood to start the cycle all over again. The natural laws of these five elements are actually working in multiple ways throughout Nature, our bodies, our psychologies and the energetic movements of all things here on this planet. In these movements, there are cycles within cycles, one of which is the cycle of birth, growth, disintegration and death, or the void that comes after old life and before new life.

We have just been traveling through that void, in two Water years, which immersed us in a descending place of degeneration, dissolution and chaos, a time when our internal world of formless spirit and emotions held total sway over every attempt at external control or order. For most of us, it was an unsettling time of letting go of many things, either voluntarily or forcefully, a time of deep soul searching, with gradual or sudden destabilization in many areas of family and livelihood. There was a profound search for a return to a spiritual basis for daily living. This all had the effect of highlighting an individual’s isolation and powerlessness within a seemingly random and careless society. Not that outright rebellion and outcry didn’t happen, globally as well as internally. The 2012 Yang Water Dragon year saw to that, with its critical promptings of social responsibility and heroism, and this Yin Water Snake year that followed delved even deeper into the most hidden caves of stagnant dysfunctionality and corruption on all levels.

The good and great news is that we have completed 5 years of the degenerative part of the cycles–that of the harvested, decomposing Earth, compressing and eliminative Metal, and dissolving, settling out, cleansing Water. We now emerge into the generative cycles–powerful, bursting buds of Wood’s new growth fueling the joyful outreach and passions of Fire and the beginnings of Earth’s fruitful harvests.

So, that’s the Wood part of what’s coming. Now to turn our gaze to the animal symbol of Horse. This sprouting upward rush of Wood energy will find its perfect release into the impulsive and passionate nature of the Yang Horse, whose native element is Fire. The Horse energy inspires powerful INTUITION and an indomitable surge towards freedom in every aspect of life. This is a year to follow your inner voice like never before, for it will have a universal cosmic ch’i within it. Higher guidance is with us every step of the way. Reach for the sky, call up your vision, fuel your plans with vision boards and creativity, find a fresh path and pace yourself well. This yang Horse year has the potential to channel the powerful new upthrust of Wood’s Ch’i through the Horse’s Heart energy of Fire and into every project we start, every desire we reach for. It will keep our eager plans from being dominated by too much “head” and not enough “heart.”

It may be quite challenging to trust that we have this absolutely new, purified and hopeful energy to build on now. Our hearts have had to endure a gauntlet of deconstruction through two Metal and two Water years, but the fiery Horse is about to change all of that. Within the extroverted “Green Horse” year, we will not only branch out with new growth, but we will be able to stoke the Fire element of love in every area of life. Follow your intuition fearlessly, as it is both the horse’s main attribute which preserves its freedom and powerful health and it is Wood’s primary talent for stretching into the unknown future. Reach out with irrepressible faith to a new level of social communion and mutual support. Trust every impulse to embrace a revitalized and renewed sensitivity for the pleasures this earthly dimension has to offer.

Step up and out of any old clutter, stored memories, should-have-dones or regrets. The time to deal with that is over for now. Untangle your thoughts quickly and get clear on what it is that you truly desire in this lifetime. Your trusty steed is here, full of vibrant health and tremendous stamina. It should be quite a fast ride, so grab a fistful of mane, hang on to the reins, cast your old cares to the wind and let out a whoop of delight–Yeeehaaw! Upward and onward we thrive! May we all be blest abundantly as we hold each other closer in the circle of health and new life the Wood Horse year brings.

THE STEVE MILLER BAND LYRICS

"Fly Like An Eagle"

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'

Into the future

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'

Into the future

I want to fly like an eagle

To the sea

Fly like an eagle

Let my spirit carry me

I want to fly like an eagle

Till I'm free

Oh, Lord, through the revolution

Feed the babies

Who don't have enough to eat

Shoe the children

With no shoes on their feet

House the people

Livin' in the street

Oh, oh, there's a solution

I want to fly like an eagle

To the sea

Fly like an eagle

Let my spirit carry me

I want to fly like an eagle

Till I'm free

Fly through the revolution

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'

Into the future

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'

Into the future

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'

Into the future

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'

I want to fly like an eagle

To the sea

Fly like an eagle

Let my spirit carry me

I want to fly like an eagle

Till I'm free

Fly through the revolution

Late Sat. Night Thoughts from Jester Emailed to Recaps

[Jester] HI ALL... SORRY SO LATE...SO EVERYONE HAVE A NICE WEEKEND I HOPE...??

[HeartLand] Jester how are you?

[Jester] HeartLand I AM HANGING IN THERE... LOTS OF PEOPLE TO TALK TO HERE LATELY... IT ALL HAPPENS WHILE THE ROOM IS OPEN FOR SOME REASON... HAHAHAHH

[HeartLand] Jester hope you have gotten some rest

[Jester] Hannah HeartLand YEAH I FINALLY DID LAST NIGHT... NO CHOICE... THE CRASH AND BURN KIND... HAHAHAH

[Jester] WHEN YOU HAVE GONE AS FAR AS YOU CAN YOU WAKE UP WITH YOUR FACE HAVING KEYBOARD IMPRINTS IN IT.. HAHAHAH

[Chickiepoo] Jester are you hearing anything you can share?

....

Read More Link on Right

[Jester] Chickiepoo I AM HEARING SOME THINGS... LOTS HAVING TO DO WITH THE PLAN AS EVERYONE SAYS... AND IT IS STILL ALL A TIMING ISSUE...

[Jester] I WOULD SUGGEST YOU "NOT" CALL THE BANK AND DO ALL THE THINGS SOME OTHERS ARE SUGGESTING... THAT IS NOT HELPING AND IS IN LARGE PART RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SITUATION THAT EXISTS RIGHT NOW...

[Liberty] Jester you would think as many times as dinarland has been told that they would get it......... I hope the majority does

[Jester] BECOMING A PAIN IN THE BUTT IS NOT GOING TO MAKE THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE HAPPY TO WORK WITH A BUNCH OF CRAZIES...

[Jester] Liberty IT IS HARD FOR THE MASSES TO REALIZE THAT THE WHOLE THING WAS MESSED UP BY DOING THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE... SO DOING IT SOME MORE SEEMS COUNTERPRODUCTIVE TO ME...

Vigilance] Jester I posted a link earlier - many Dems "retiring" when their term ends. Is this a run for the hills from Obama, or because of malfeasance?

[Jester] Vigilance I THINK THEY ARE STARTING TO SEE THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL... AS I HAVE SAID MANY TIMES BEFORE... THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PICK A SIDE... SO THEY ARE GOING TO QUIT... NO BACKBONE...

[Jester] FOR THE OTHERS... THEY HAVE A CHANCE TO CHANGE THINGS... THE RIGHT SIDE WILL WIN IN THE END... THAT IS A GIVEN... IF WE COULD GET ALL OUR ELECTED DING DONGS TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE THEY WOULD KNOW WHICH SIDE TO PICK AND IT WOULD COME MUCH FASTER...

[Jester] THE THING THAT I SEE HAPPENING THE MOST... AND THIS IS WHERE I BELIEVE IT WILL COME TO US... IS THE REPS ARE ALL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHO IS GOING TO COME OUT ON TOP... THE GOOD GUYS ARE MAKING THEIR PRESENCE KNOWN... BUT IT IS HARD FOR THEM TO REALIZE THAT THE SAME OLD STUFF THEY HAVE BEEN DOING FOR SO LONG IS GOING TO GO AWAY... SO THEY HAVE A HARD TIME TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION...

[Jester] A POLITICIAN IS ALWAYS GOING TO TRY AND ALIGN TO THE WINNING SIDE TO KEEP THEIR OWN BUTT IN POWER... THEY DO NOT REALIZE THEY ARE THERE TO WORK FOR US... AND THAT WILL BE IMPORTANT IN THE END...

[Jester] THAT IS PRETTY MUCH WHAT I SEE IN A NUTSHELL... ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE REAL WORLD ANYWAY...

[Jester] WHAT IS GOING ON IN DINAR LAND IS A TRAGEDY IN MY OPINION... FOLLOWING THAT PATH BECAUSE OF THAT REASON IS NOT GOING TO GET ANYONE PAID...

[Jester] BE PATIENT AND ACT RIGHT AND THOSE PEOPLE MAY GET TAKEN CARE OF... THE BANKS ARE NOT HOLDING THIS UP... CALLING THEM ONLY MAKES US LOOK SILLIER AND MAKES THEM LIKE TO WORK WITH US LESS...

[Jester] DON'T YOU THINK THEY ARE CONCERNED WITH ALL THE STUPIDITY GOING ON? SHEESH... I WOULDN'T LIKE TO WORK WITH US EITHER... HAHAHAHA

[Jester] OH WELL... SO MUCH FOR THAT... THAT ATTITUDE IS WHAT CHANGED THE PLAN IN THE FIRST PLACE...

[Jester] BUT IT IS NICE TO SEE ALL OF YOU GUYS NOT WIERDING OUT AND PARTICIPATING IN ALL THAT... AND REMEMBER... IT IS A LOT BIGGER PICTURE THAN JUST GETTING PAID...

[Jester] WE ARE WITNESSING A CHANGE IN THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT... IF YOU CARE TO NOTICE...

[Jester] IT IS ABOUT A FEW BILLION PEOPLE... NOT US GETTING PAID... HAHAHAH...

chasen] can you clarify who would or would not want to work with us and what is their relationship to the good guys?

[Jester] chasen HMMM... IF YOU WERE A BANK WOULD YOU LIKE ALL THE DINARIANS CALLING TO FUSS?

[Jester] ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT...

[chasen] RV will not happen until bad guys are under control right?

[Jester] ONE THING TO THINK OF... THE BANK DOES NOT HAVE TO OFFER THIS SERVICE... NOT AT ALL... THEY CAN SAY... THE HECK WITH THIS... IT IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE...

[chasen] Classic a few people wreck it for everybody else.

[Jester] WHEW... LOTS OF THINGS TO THINK ABOUT YOU KNOW...

[Jester] BUT HEY...I AM OF THE OPINION THAT THINGS ARE MOVING ALONG... WE SEE LITTLE VICTORIES EACH DAY... IT IS MOVING THE RIGHT DIRECTION...

[ljp] Jester , that helps, knowing that there are little victories!!!!

[chasen] Hoping those little victories are just the tip of the ice burg!

[Chickiepoo] Jester and hoping these little victories pick up momentum

[Jester] chasen YA KNOW... EACH ONE GETS US THAT LITTLE BIT CLOSER... THE LONGEST JOURNEY STARTS WITH THE FIRST STEPS...

[Hannah] Jester The good news is that we are heading in the right direction.

[chasen] I'm encouraged to hear you sound so confident we will win.

[Jester] IF I HAD TO GUESS I WOULD SAY WE ARE GETTING CLOSE TO THE END OF THE JOURNEY ONE WAY OR ANOTHER... WE ALWAYS KNEW THEY WOULD GO OUT KICKING AND SCREAMING... THAT IS WHAT IS HAPPENING... BUT AS MOMENTUM CHANGES THE PEOPLE WILL JUMP TO THE OTHER SIDE.. TOO BAD THEY ARE NOT ALREADY THERE.. IT WOULD BE GOING MUCH FASTER..

[chasen] Hearing a lot about a crash landing in this country. Thoughts?

[Chickiepoo] And it seems more and more people are wising up

"How to Teach Your Children to be Rich" Posted by Bunky at TNT

Bunky: Very interesting this came out in Wall Street Journal, "How to teach your children to be rich."

Getting rich is hard enough. But teaching the next generation how to be rich is tricky, too.

More people are confronting that issue as the booming stock market, an improving economy and the success of young companies such as Twitter and Facebook swell the ranks of the well-off. By 2015, roughly 4.4 million wealthy North Americans—those with at least $1 million in investible assets—are expected to hold a total of $15 trillion, according to consulting firm Capgemini and RBC Wealth Management, up from 3.7 million people and $12.7 trillion in 2012.

Congress also opted to keep the federal estate-tax exemption at $5 million, adjusted for inflation, keeping a lot of money in the hands of wealthy families that otherwise might have gone to Uncle Sam. The exemption had been set to fall sharply.

....

Read More Link on Right

Yet the challenges are rising at the same time as the stakes, according to parents and wealth advisers.

Traditional hurdles—such as helping kids reared in comfort develop a strong work ethic—are compounded by 21st-century ones, including maintaining a safe presence on social media.

Many wealthy parents worry that fortunes will be squandered and their children's lives, instead of being eased by money, will be made more complicated or less productive.

Some 57% of the respondents to a 2013 survey by U.S. Trust, Bank of America's private-bank unit, didn't think their kids would be ready to handle being rich until they were 25 to 34 years old. In a similar survey the prior year, 51% had the same view.

The good news is there are strategies that can smooth the transition and lower its risks, experts say. They recommend starting to talk about the family's money early, well before children are grown, and then building on those early conversations as the time nears when kids will receive any inheritance.

Amy Renkert-Thomas's maternal grandfather founded the Fisher-Price Toy company during the Great Depression and sold it in 1969 to Quaker Oats for more than $300 million in today's dollars. Her father's family, meanwhile, started a local brick-and-tile manufacturer in 1866, which the family still runs and which generates about $10 million to $20 million in annual sales.

While she was growing up in Canton, Ohio, her parents talked openly about where their fortune came from and handed over control of brokerage accounts with a couple hundred thousand dollars in them to her and her siblings when each of them turned 21. Her mother had gotten a similar account when she came of age and wanted to continue the practice.

Ms. Renkert-Thomas, who is now 51, says the experience helped prepare her to inherit a larger sum when her mother died in 2007 and to view her wealth as a "potential engine for entrepreneurship." For 12 years, she ran the family's brick-and-tile business in between stints practicing law. She now works as an adviser to other wealthy families that own businesses at Withers Consulting Group in New Haven, Conn.

"It's very freeing, very energizing, to think that that wealth is there to be put to good use," she says.

Here are steps that experts say wealthy families should take to help raise kids who are both wealthy and wise:

Tell the Rags-to-Riches Story

Few families have known nothing but privilege for generation after generation. Maybe it is the parents, or the grandparents, or the great-grandparents, but someone on the family tree only got rich after experiencing struggle and, likely, early failure.

Families have to tell the story of where the money came from, says Neale Godfrey, chairwoman of the Children's Financial Network, a financial-education firm based in Chester Township, N.J.

"Kids are so insulated from how it got created in the first place," she says. By the time the youngest generation arrives, the houses are often already large, the beach house is well lived-in and the club memberships have been long secured.

One way to get children involved is to show them where it all started—the first factory opened by the business, for instance. Ms. Renkert-Thomas says her father used to point out structures built with the family's brick products as they traveled around town during her childhood.

In telling the family's story, be sure to include mention of the mistakes and failures along the way, advisers say. It is hard for kids to grow up in a house where they think their parents are superheroes.

Give a Sense of What's Coming

U.S. Trust's survey found that 53% of respondents who had children age 25 and older had disclosed only a little bit of information about their wealth to their kids. Another 8% had said nothing at all—an approach that, according to the experts, courts disaster.

A phone call by a trust officer on an heir's 21st birthday isn't the way to break the news that a sizable fortune awaits. The conversation should begin at least a decade earlier, and introductions to the trust officer and the advisers should start in the early teen years, advisers say.

"The surprise never works. Kids are blindsided and have no idea what to do," Ms. Godfrey says.

She says that in one family she knows, the oldest son inherited $7 million at age 21 with no prior notice. He just met with the family's financial adviser, who handed him a check and said more was coming at age 30.

The young man dropped out of college and bought a Ferrari, later crashing the car and frittering the money away due to a substance-abuse problem, and ending up in rehabilitation.

Ms. Godfrey says she was brought in by the parents to help prevent the same thing from happening with two younger siblings. She recommended the other children meet with financial advisers well before they received any of their inheritance.

That doesn't mean that kids need to know all the details about the family finances. The conversations can proceed in an age-appropriate way, experts say.

Joline Godfrey, chief executive officer at financial-education firm Independent Means in Santa Barbara, Calif. (and no relation to Neale Godfrey), says her company starts teaching children as young as five about financial literacy, then gradually expands into other topics, including what a trust is and why it is smart to have a good relationship with the trustee and, eventually, how to set up prenuptial agreements when they become young adults.

"If you can begin the talk early, by the time they are 10 and 12 years old they have an orientation to financial literacy, and it's easier to deal with than when they are 19 years old and this is the first they are hearing of it," she says.

Don't discount the value of games, either. Traditional board games can help boost financial awareness, according to advisers who cited the Game of Life and Pay Day, both made by Hasbro, as examples.

In addition, a website called the Secret Millionaires Club (www.smckids.com) features animated videos with voice-overs by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett teaching the basics of financial decision-making and starting a business. The site, which is targeted at a broad audience, offers a number of other educational games and resources for parents and teachers.

Explain the Need for Discretion

Once children have a general feel for their family's finances, it is easier to explain the need for discretion and privacy.

That conversation is particularly important for teenagers and preteens who may be establishing a presence on social media. Going on Facebook or Twitter to describe details of the family's upcoming ski trip to Gstaad can increase the risk of theft, advisers say. It is better to share information in a more controlled way with a closer circle of friends by email, for example.

U.S. Trust is adding content about online security and identity protection to its Financial Empowerment education program for the children of clients, in part because clients have raised questions about the topic, says Chris Heilmann, oversaw the program's creation.

Even as adults, heirs need to learn how to handle questions about their personal circumstances, particularly given that lists of the wealthy that are easily available online can make it difficult to maintain a sense of privacy.

Ann Freel, director of family education and governance services at private bank Northern Trust, says she had clients in a small town who grew anxious about how to respond to questions from friends after they quit their jobs to do full-time volunteer work.

The bank coached the couple through scenarios where they would have to respond to questions. "They realized that not only were most of the questions quite innocent, but that they could effectively manage the inquiries and deflect unwanted attention," Ms. Freel says.

Walk the Walk

Once children understand that they are better off financially than most everyone around them, parents often must work a little harder to impart down-to-earth values.

"You can start as soon as your kids say 'I want.' Kids prone to immediate gratification have lower self-esteem. Kids who understand money is more than instant gratification have higher self-esteem," says Nathan Dungan, a wealth coach in Minneapolis and author of "Prodigal Sons and Material Girls: How Not to Be Your Child's ATM."

The task is even more difficult if parents don't practice what they preach. Trying to teach the value of a dollar is tough when parents make lots of shopping trips to high-end stores. Similarly, a message about the importance of viewing others as equals may not carry as much weight if a parent uses a demeaning tone of voice with service workers.

"Kids develop attitudes about money and wealth by observing their parent's day-to-day actions more than anything else," Ms. Freel says.

Those lessons also can continue into adulthood. Frank Crocetti, who is 62 and a former executive at Fidelity Investments, is a private investor and a board member of a technology startup company. He says he tried to teach his children basic lessons while they were growing up.

"I tried to make them smart about money," says Mr. Crocetti, who lives in Boston. He arranged in recent years for his 32-year-old son, Paul, and Paul's wife to go through U.S. Trust's financial-education program.

Paul Crocetti, who is a newspaper editor in Waltham, Mass., says his parents didn't flaunt their wealth while he was growing up. He adds that they didn't go through the program in anticipation of getting a windfall from his parents. "We're not really focused on that aspect. We're focused on what we are doing with the money we have," he says.

He says the program helped him when he wanted to refinance the mortgage on his home.

Encourage Kids to Do Something

Establishing good work habits also can start at a young age. Parents can provide allowances for chores completed around the house and, later, suggest entry-level jobs in a restaurant or a local store.

As kids get older, parents can get them involved in day-to-day money decisions in the home, such as managing a limited budget for car expenses, after-school activities or a week's worth of groceries, Ms. Freel says.

Then, when the time comes to manage a serious amount of money, they have a better chance of managing well, experts say. And don't be afraid they might fail at first, says Jill Shipley, a private adviser in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Ms. Shipley cites a wealthy client whose adult son wanted to buy a restaurant franchise. The son, who was in his 20s, had worked in the business for a year before the father agreed that if he put together a business plan and got a mentor, he would fund the purchase. Three-and-a-half years and $1.5 million later, the experiment failed.

But the son went on to become a partner in another business, and is now thriving, Ms. Shipley says. "Allow children to make mistakes and gain experience," she advises.

Ms. Renkert-Thomas's mother had a similar attitude about the brokerage accounts her children got control of when they turned 21. "She basically told me to do with it as I chose, but I have to live with the consequences," Ms. Renkert-Thomas says.

The account contained enough money to help pay for graduate school and buy a house—but not enough for her to quit school and stop working, she says. Ms. Renkert-Thomas made typical young-person mistakes, such as overspending on restaurant meals, but ultimately she came to view the money as startup capital.

Now, Ms. Renkert-Thomas's own children are 20 and 18, and she says she is getting ready to set up brokerage accounts for them, too.

"20 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do" by RLD at TNT

RLD: 20 things that mentally strong people don't do

I often write about the things I believe we all should be doing, trying or experimenting with in order to maximize our success and happiness. However, it’s not always the things we do that make the biggest difference in our lives; it’s often the things we avoid doing that have the biggest effect. As human beings, we have a strong aversion to not doing; we feel that in order to produce results, there must be an initial action.

However, because we are almost always doing something, piling on more and more often has a negative effect, rather than a positive one. Among the mentally strong, there are several actions that are avoided in order to produce the greatest benefit in the shortest period of time.

These actions are those that the mentally strong avoid, and that we should consider adapting as our own:

1. Dwelling On The Past

....

Read More Link on Right

Mentally strong individuals focus on the present moment and on the near future. They understand that the past is out of our control and the far future is about as predictable as the weather this winter.

2. Remaining In Their Comfort Zone

The comfort zone is a dangerous place, a dark abyss where anyone who remains there for too long loses his or herself entirely. Staying within your comfort zone is giving up on life.

3. Not Listening To The Opinions Of Others

Only the foolish believe themselves to be sufficient in all regards. When it comes to brainstorming, ideas can’t so much be forced as they can be caught. A good idea is a good idea, regardless of whether or not you came up with it. Don’t let your ego get the better of you; if someone has great advice to give, take it.

4. Avoiding Change

What the mentally strong understand that the mentally weak do not is that change is unavoidable. Trying to avoid the inevitable is pointless. Therefore, trying to avoid change is pointless; it’s a mere waste of time and energy.

5. Keeping A Closed Mind

You don’t know everything. Even the things you believe yourself to know are likely to not be entirely true. If you keep a closed mind, you are preventing yourself from learning new material. If you stop learning, you stop living.

6. Letting Others Make Decisions For Them

Only you should be making your own decisions; you can’t allow others to make them for you. All this does is shift the responsibility from you to someone else, but the only person failing in the end is you. If you don’t have the courage to fail, then you don’t have the courage to succeed.

7. Getting Jealous Over The Successes Of Others

When others succeed, you should be happy. If they can do it, so can you. The success of others does not, in any way, lessen the chances of you succeeding. If anything, it should motivate you to keep pushing forward.

8. Thinking About The High Possibility Of Failure

Our thoughts control our perspective; our perspective controls our results. The mentally strong understand this and use this to their advantage. There’s always the chance you may fail, but as long as there is the chance you may succeed, it’s worth trying.

9. Feeling Sorry For Themselves

Sh*t happens. Life can be hard. People get hurt; others die. Life isn’t all roses and butterflies. You will fall off that horse again and again and again. The question is, are you strong enough to keep getting back on it?

10. Focusing On Their Weaknesses

Although working on our weaknesses does have it’s benefits, it’s more important to focus on banking on our strengths. The most well-rounded person is not the person that gets the furthest in life. Being average in all regards makes you average. However, mastering a certain skillset or trait will allow you to beat the competition with less effort.

11. Trying To Please People

A job well done is a job well done, no matter who is judging the final product. You can’t please everybody, but you can always manage to do your very best.

12. Blaming Themselves For Things Outside Their Control

The mentally strong know the things they can control, understand the things they cannot control, and avoid even thinking about that which is completely out of their hands.

13. Being Impatient

Patience isn’t just a virtue; it is the virtue. Most people don’t fail because they aren’t good enough, or aren’t capable of winning or succeeding. Most people fail because they are impatient and give up before their time has come.

14. Being Misunderstood

Communication is key in any properly functioning system. When it comes to people, things get a bit more complicated. Simply stating information is never enough; if the receiving party misunderstands you, your message is not being properly relayed. The mentally strong do their best to be understood and have the patience to clear up misunderstandings.

15. Feeling Like You’re Owed

You aren’t owed anything in life. You were born; the rest is up to you. Life doesn’t owe you anything. Others don’t owe you anything. If you want something in life, you only owe it to yourself to go out and get it. In life, there are no handouts.

16. Repeating Mistakes

Make a mistake once, okay. Make a mistake twice… not so okay. Make the same mistake a third time, you may need to consider giving up alcohol and drugs. You’re either stupid or permanently high.

17. Giving Into Their Fears

The world can be a scary place. Some things frighten us with good cause, but most of our fears are illogical. If you know that you want to try something, try it. If you’re scared, then understand that being scared of failing must mean that succeeding means a whole lot to you.

18. Acting Without Calculating

The mentally strong know better than to act before completely understanding the situation at hand. If you have time to ponder over something and cover all your bases, then do so. Not doing so is pure laziness.

19. Refusing Help From Others

You’re not Superman; you can’t do it all. Even if you can, why should you? If others are offering to help, let them help. Be social. Listen to their ideas and watch how they do things. You may learn something. If not, then you can teach them something and do what humans are meant to do: socialize.

20. Throwing In The Towel

The biggest weakness in all of humanity is giving up — calling it quits, throwing in the towel. The mentally strong go about things in such a way. Only do things if they are important to you; forget the things that aren’t important to you. If they’re important to you, then pursue them until you succeed. No exceptions, ever.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

When care is pressing you down a bit-

Rest, if you must, but don't quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As everyone of us sometimes learns.

And many a fellow turns about

When he might have won had he stuck it out.

Don't give up though the pace seems slow-

You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than

It seems to a faint and faltering man;

Picture

Often the struggler has given up,

When he might have captured the victor's cup;

And he learned to late when the night came down

How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out-

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you can never tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems afar;

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-

It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

TLAR Sunday Post emailed to Dinar Recaps

TLAR: This has been a banner week for our investment. Iraq seems to be getting ready to do something maybe as early as this month with their currency. We have been waiting for the tariff law to be implemented for four years. It was implemented January 2nd. The tariff law by itself, without an increase in the dinar is inflationary because it will add between 20 and 50% to selected imports. Iraq has to import everything it needs because it has yet to start to develop its manufacturing and markets. They have stated that the products to be included at first will be mainly luxury items and that future products will be added over a four year period. It still going to raise the prices of everything except basic food stuffs which is inflationary.

Iraqi parliament has been busy removing thousands of laws on the books that the Saddam regime had put in place which were hindering investment and a free economy. We have been waiting for over a year to see new legislation designed to encourage investment and free enterprise. Well guess what? They had passed those laws a while back but never told anyone. Those laws are now being implemented. The first article below shows that these laws were passed but not in the news and they are now being activated. They slipped another one by us. (Article 1)

MORE GOOD NEWS

Read More Link on Right

The Bank of International Settlements (BIS) is this month for the first time accepting the dinar as deposits.

The new smart card is being issued which will allow for Iraqis to get paid in something other than cash. They will be able to make purchases and use the ATM's when they need cash.

Iraqi's working for the government will have their salaries doubled soon retroactive back to Jan 1 of 2014.

This is also the month Iraq becomes a donor nation. (IMF)

The WTO met to determine whether or not Iraq will be admitted for full membership on Dec29th. There has been no announcement of the results of this meeting as of yet. Remember the WTO had told Iraq in 2010 that they wanted to see the dinar close to the value of a dollar before they would be admitted to full membership.

On the 7th of January the CBI will start selling bonds for the first time since the Saddam era. This is an important "monetary tool" which is one of the three tools that ultimately will replace the auctions. The other two tools are the tariffs (implemented Jan 2nd) and the Exchange rate not implemented yet. Bond sales are a necessary vital tool for the CBI in order to support the currency and control inflation. (Article Two)

Kurdistan has started sending oil through the pipeline into Turkey with Bagdad's blessing. This means that the numbers have been agreed upon as to revenue sharing of oil profits. It sets the stage for the budget to be passed. The COM has just released the budget to parliament today to be voted on. With Bagdad and Kurdistan in agreement, it should pass quickly.

Article 140 was agreed upon by making it its own province that eventually will be under Kurdistan influence.

So what does all this mean? For years all of this legislation has been tied up. All of it is coming together this month, January, and the really interesting thing is BIS now accepting the dinar for deposit this month to be used shortly for international settlements. The dinar to be used INTERNATIONALLY. They have not yet declared IMF Article VIII, but they must be very close.

Here's the deal if they don't. BIS can't use their currency until they declare Article VIII for international settlements. Nobody will accept Iraq's toilet paper which is only good in their own country. The WTO will not let them in as a permanent member with the currency as it is. The tariffs will be inflationary. The budget is written at 1.16 dinars per US dollar but will have to be refigured again. Without a currency their economy and all the press recently touting about Iraq's economic rebirth in 2014 and the explosion of a free market, will again be wrong. The economy will continue to be stagnant unless they introduce the new Iraqi dinar internationally. 2014 is our year and it may be as early as sometime this month. They can do it anytime this month and make it retroactive to January 1 just like everything else. Anyway everything looks like it is finally falling into place after years of waiting.

Just a side note. The whole country of Iraq has pulled together and is fighting al-Qaeda. Sunni militias are fighting along with Shiite militias as well as the Iraqi Army along with the US soldiers and Iran Quads. They have stamped out 80% of the al-Qaeda organization in two weeks. They have as of yesterday killed the leader in Iraq of al-Qaeda. In another week it should be settled. Al-Qaeda tried to make a move in Iraq. Most coming through Syria. By the time the opposition to them organized they had made some gains. They are on the run now. Interesting though, Iranians fighting on the same side with the US, Sunni's and Shia's.

Mrs. Jim: Some Interesting & Strange Made Up Stuff (Some of Which May Be Factual ... ;)

NOW THIS IS A REAL EDUCATION Us older people need to learn something new every day... Just to keep the grey matter tuned up. If you're young and hip, this is still interesting.

Where did "Piss Poor" come from? Interesting history. They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot. And then once it was full it was taken and sold to the tannery... If you had to do this to survive you were "Piss Poor". But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn't even afford to buy a pot... They "didn't have a pot to piss in" and were the lowest of the low.

The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the 1500's Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May, and they still smelled pretty good by June.. However, since they were starting to smell, brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, Then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water!"

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying, "It's raining cats and dogs." There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying, "Dirt poor." The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery In the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on the floor to help keep their footing.. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entrance-way. Hence: a thresh hold.

(Getting quite an education, aren't you?)

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers In the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme: “Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old."

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, "bring home the bacon." They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and chew the fat.

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, And guests got the top, or the upper crust.

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky. The combination would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom; “holding a wake."

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the graveyard shift) to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be, “saved by the bell" or was "considered a dead ringer."

And that's the truth. Now, whoever said history was boring!!!

IQD4US from Dinar Daily Checks in with an RV progress report --

I just did my monthly review of the "status" , and I CAN say:

that the deposit of Kurdistans money into the FUND will be from OIL sales, as part of that money is supposed to be used to pay back Kuwait. There is still money outstanding, and they are supposed to have transparency in their oil sales for the "country" - not just Bagdad.

that the Tariff Law DID indeed go into effect, and surprisingly to me, they are "concerned" about the effect of the tax on cigarettes and alcohol. I am surprised because when the US Soldiers were there - alcohol was contraband because it was a "Muslim" country. (did you know that a fifth of Crown will fit nicely into a can of Coffee, and superglue will help keep the lid on during inspection? don't ask how I know).

that ANYTHING that helps Iraq progress in the areas of laws and business is a GOOD thing, BUT - just because one thing or another is complete, does not mean that WE will receive the benefit yet.

There is MORE - so much MORE that Iraq as a government has to do for their country - but it only has to be decided that IQD be internationally recognized as a currency of value that other countries will accept for US to reap any benefit.

Intel from CyberCyndi at TNT Friday AM

CyberCyndi: 1-3-14 Intel from my source this morning. It's all good ....

Finally we have some news after several dry days:

Iraq has met with US and both agree and Iraq has called for the immediate activation of the complete SFA

The tariff and customs laws are activated as expected so they are now hustling to get all the ports ready and the budget through and get the rate to where it should be to have fair pricing for global trade.

They are in action and the moment they actually begin trading they much has a new rate.

The budget for 2014 is expected to be passed on Saturday BUT it is not necessary for the reality rate to be published. That will be done with data entry by CBI and show when it does.

....

The parliament has many laws that are ready to be voted on and pass all at once since their activation is interdependent although again, while we do not need this before a new rate shows, they may coincide & show up at the same time.

We have not seen anything on full membership in WTO as was expected on 12/31 for several months

The ISX (their stock market) is scheduled to open on 1/6. The first and only product that makes the rest of the stocks valuable internationally is their Dinar. Intuitively we should see the new rate by then since they cannot open without it and the Dinar is a primary product for them to trade.

CBI has full control of when the reality rate is published for international trade. We have seen nothing from them recently. They are closed Fri. and Sat. which I think would be a perfect time to spring the new rate on us don’t you think?

So we continue the vigil and will report and expect massive news in the next couple of days. Be assured that things are working and this will conclude even if we see no news as in the past few days.

Paris Club info sent to Recaps by ScGal

Paris Club info sent to Recaps by ScGal

I decided to do a little research on the Paris Club, since it was mentioned by both Zap and Bluedog in their recent posts. After the information, I have a couple questions for any Guru or Recaps reader who would like to comment. Thanks! SCGal

INVESTOPEDIA'S definition of 'Paris Club'

An informal group of creditor nations whose objective is to find workable solutions to payment problems faced by debtor nations. The Paris Club has 19 permanent members, including most of the western European and Scandinavian nations, the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Japan. The Paris Club stresses the informal nature of its existence and deems itself a "non-institution." As an informal group, it has no official statutes and no formal inception date, although its first meeting with a debtor nation was in 1956, with Argentina.

INVESTODEDIA summary of the 'Paris Club'

The members of the Paris Club meet each month in the French capital, except for the months of February and August. These monthly meetings may also include negotiations with one or more debtor countries that have met the Club's pre-conditions for debt negotiation. The main conditions a debtor nation has to meet are that it should have a demonstrated need for debt relief and should be committed to implementing economic reform, which in effect means that it must already have a current program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) supported by a conditional arrangement.

The Paris Club has five key functioning principles: case by case, consensus, conditionality, solidarity and comparability of treatment.

WIKIPEDIA INFO:

The Paris Club (French: Club de Paris) is an informal group of financial officials from 19 of some of the world's biggest economies, which provides financial services such as, debt restructuring, debt relief, and debt cancellation to indebted countries and their creditors.

Debtors are often recommended by the International Monetary Fund after alternative solutions have failed.

It meets every six weeks (note that Investopedia said every month) at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance in Paris. It is chaired by a senior official of the French Treasury, currently the Director General of the Treasury [Ramon Fernandez].

The club grew out of crisis talks held in Paris in 1956 between the nation of Argentina and its various creditors. Its principles and procedures were codified at the end of the 1970s in the context of the North-South Dialogue.

1990s Activities

In the 1990s, the club began to treat the HIPC (Heavily-Indebted Poor Countries) and non-HIPCs differently. The club began to grant increasingly larger debt reductions for the HIPCs. For the non-HIPCs, the club engaged less in debt reductions and moved towards encouraging the absorption of non-HIPCs' financial losses by bondholders and other private creditors. (So -- what we saw in Cyprus is NOT new nor are the ideas that the EU and other bond holders should absorb some of the debts Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, etc.)

2000s DEBTS FORGIVEN

IN 2004, THE CLUB AGREED TO WRITE-OFF THE DEBTS OF IRAQ, AS THE REBUILDING OF IRAQ IS INCOMPARABLE.

After the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, the Paris Club decided to suspend temporarily some of the repayment obligations of the affected countries.

In November 2005, during the tenure of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as Nigeria's Minister of Finance, the Nigerian government "won Paris Club approval for a debt-relief deal that eliminated $18 billion of debt in exchange for $12 billion in payments ...". This discharged "...$30 billion of Nigeria's total $37 billion external debt."

In April 2006, Nigeria became the first African country to fully pay off its debt (estimated $30 billion) owed to the Paris Club.

On September 2, 2008, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner of Argentina announced plans to pay off the entirety of debt owed to the Paris Club, which amounted to roughly $6.7 billion. Political pressures ensued and though the government officially insists its intention to repay, government officials have stated that this is unlikely until global credit conditions improve.

2010s DEBTS FORGIVEN

On September 16, 2010, the Paris Club canceled $1.26 billion of Liberia's debt, 100% of the Paris Club's share of a World Bank-IMF poverty reduction program.

On November 18, 2010, the Paris Club canceled $7.35 billion of Democratic Republic of the Congo's debt. This resulted in the removal of over 50% of their debt.

On November 16, 2012, the Paris Club canceled $6.5 billion of Ivory Coast's debt, all of their debt to the Paris Club.

On January 28, 2013, Myanmar has announced deals with international lenders including Paris Club member nations to cancel or refinance nearly $6 billion of its debt, Paris Club's share to be written off US$ 2.2 billion.

Q: If in 2004 ALL Iraqi debts were forgiven by these member countries, then how can the USA still have oil credits for repayment of the war?

Q: Notice who is not on the member or associate member list? CHINA.

Is this why China can buy the oil credits from the USA and then China can make Iraq honor these oil credits, since it would appear China has not forgiven any Iraqi debts? So is this an indirect way for the USA to not honor the Paris Club agreement made in 2004 and instead make money on what we have said is forgiven debts?
