Barzani: We seek to stay within Iraq and will not announce a Kurdish state after the referendum

Kurdistan Security Council adviser to Barzani said, "It will not be the announcement of a Kurdish state immediately after the holding of the referendum process," likely before the end of 2016.
 
He said Barzani - a son of the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzana- in an interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday evening, said that "the Kurds are trying to stay within the framework of Iraq, does not intend to declare a Kurdish state immediately after the holding of the referendum process."
 
"We're trying to stay in this country, but if the authorities in Baghdad do not consider the Kurds and partners on an equal footing, and if they continue to push them to go away, then should not blame the Kurds for their search for other solutions."
 
He pointed out, "We will not announce independence at the moment," adding, "We're just talking about the right of the Kurds, like any other, and if they feel that it's time to exercise this right, we expect the world to understand that."
 
He called Barzani to increase international aid to the Peshmerga in the framework of the funding for the war against al Daash, saying "It is a miracle that the Peshmerga forces remain on the front lines while not received their salaries," saying it was "the responsibility of the whole world to come to help the Peshmerga to win this war."
